Chapter 8: The video

3rd Person P.O.V

The Avengers, Sofia and Fury all sat in a conference room. The searches were all continuing and all they could do was wait. It was slowly killing them all even if some (Fury) couldn't admit it to themselves let alone the others in the room. Everyones emotions were going haywire.

Even Sofia,who had never met the girls, was worried. The newest scientist knew how much the two young woman had made an impacted on the superheroes lives and how much they meant. However she couldn't imagine the thoughts and feeling flowing through the others in the room.

"Sir!" Maria Hill yelled as she burst into the room. "We've received a video of the girls!" Everyone cringed slightly, a.ready having their own ideas of what could be on the video. "We are tracking the sender now!" Hill continued.

"I want that video up and playing!" Fury demanded as everyone turned to the screen set up in the room. Maria nodded and typed a few things on her tablet. A few seconds later the video popped up on the screen. It started off as a black picture with heavy breathing in the background

When the lights finally switched on everyone could see Bethany and Deanna tied to the chairs, their heads hanging lowly. "Now are you going to be good girls and say hello to your dear Avengers?" A male voice asked. Deanna growled while Bethany stayed silent, not giving the guy a response.

"Okay then if you won't talk now, I'll get you to beg them for their help." The guy said before a figure also appeared in the cameras view. He walked around the back of the two girls and looked up at the camera. His face was covered with a clowns mask that had a grin painted on it.

Slowly the guy pulled a knife from his pocket and held it between the two girls. Bethany glanced at it from the corner of her eye but neither girl made a noise or moved an inch. "Are you going to say hello?" The guy asked again.

"Why don't you go to hell." Deanna spat. The male shook his head and moved the knife between the two girls, stabbing them both on the under arm. Bethany screamed out due to the sudden pain while Deanna but back a scream by insulting the man again. "Bastard."

Blood poured from the girls wounds and the man simply chuckled. "The boss is going to get rid of that attitude." The man said as he sliced both girls skins again; Bethany's for screaming and Deanna's for insulting him.

"She won't have a chance if we get rid of her first." Deanna ground out as Bethany whimpered.

"Why don't you just beg huh?" The male asked Beth, ignoring the blonde who was staring diggers at him. Everyone in the conference room watched with a mixture of fear and anxiety. "If you beg the pain will stop."

"I'll never beg for mercy when it comes to HYDRA." Beth finally spoke, her voice stronger than the way she looked. The man huffed before slicing both girls tender skin again.

"Fuck off with the knife." Deanna gritted out, both girls clearly in more pain then they would admit and give into.

"Ah ah ah, language Chalmers." The man scolded as he disappeared from camera view.

"How about you go fuck yoursef." Deanna growled. All three wounds on both girls were bleeding heavily, causing them both to pale even more than their natural skin tones. Bethany's eyes had dulled almost completely while Deanna's were completely black, almost like a thirsty vampire.

The hate radiated off the blonde girl strongly while the brunette tried to keep her breathing at normal pace. "How about this then." The mans voice came back. Suddenly the girls faces disappeared and another picture replaced it. It was a picture of all the Avengers and the girls together.

Everything went silent for a moment then the girls screams ripped through the air, both females couldn't hold it back. "Okay okay okay!" Bethany yelled. The video continued and everyone gasped as Sofia let out a small sob. Both girls were covered in even more blood and cuts.

The room around them was coated in small flames that were slowly frowning larger. The black smoke was circulating making the young woman cough horribly. "Okay okay!" Bethany yelled again. "Please help us! Please please please!"

"Mockingbird?" The man asked. Deanna looked wearily up at the camera, her eyes no longer black but blue with tints if green, the sign she was truly scared.

"Please." She whispered before coughing loudly, her whole body shuddering with the force of her hacking. The camera then spun around and the clown face appeared again, the smile haunting like.

"They're begging got you Avenger, why don't you come and get them?" We that the video cut off. Sofia let out a louder sob while Bruce tried to comfort her, Steve and Tony stared at the screen in shock, Maria and Fury stayed as impassive as they could, Thor's mouth was hanging open.

Clint growled before getting up and storming away, Natasha following closely after her husband. "What are they doing to them?" Sofia asked in a small voice.

"Hill I want the sender tracked I instantly or so help me." Fury gritted out as he and Maria left the room.

"I don't know Sofia." Bruce admitted quietly. "But we'll find them right Cap?"

"Yeah and HYDRA will have all hell to pay." Steve answered.
