Chapter 25: An Angels Memories

Bethany/Peggy sat backboard straight on the chair placed in her room, her eyes closed and breathing even yet almost non existent. Her muscles were stiff and unmoving, her face twisted into one of concentration. Nothing seemed to disturb her, until the lights began to flicker.

Opening her eyes the brunette stared at the wall and waited. The lights however didn't rest lit, instead they shut off completely, leaving the woman in darkness. After a few moments a smaller light appeared on the wall ahead, it danced across the White wall for a moment before stretching out.

After a few moments most of the wall was covered in a white light. It took several seconds but soon the light changed and began to play a reel a clips and shirt films, all containing the same person: Bethany/Peggy. (A/N: Some are going to be ones you've read others one you haven't. They aren't in a particular order either)

Clip one:

A young brunette girl had her back to the camera, her back hunched as she read over something on the table in front of her. "What you doing?" A small blonde skipped in and looked down at the table, her face was visible to the camera, a smile spread across her face.

"Looking for a possible HYDRA base." The brunette replied, sitting up straight. "But I can't seem to find one."

"Don't worry about it!" The blonde chirped, her smile stretching into a grin. "Come on, Pepper said she'd take me, you and Nat out to get our minds off this."

"Are you sure we can leave it?"

"It's only for a day Beth." The blonde rolled her eyes. "And besides the guys should be able to take care of it."

Clip two:

The same brunette appeared in the second clip, her hair tied up and hands strapped with tape. Her fists continually attacked the punching bag in front of her, her mind seemingly focusing in something else. She continued on until Steve Rodgers entered the room and placed a hand on her shoulder.

The girls didn't seem to noticed who had walked in and grabbed his hands before twisting it painfully. Steve hissed in pain before quickly swing the positions, causing a small smile to spread across the brunettes face as the two began to spar. Their attacks and defences matched, making it hard for either of them to get the upper hand.

After a few minuets they both have in and dropped their stances. They were both slightly tired but nothing much. "Nice round." The brunette grinned.

"You two Angel." The Super Soldier replied. "Although-"

Clip three:

The third clip was a stand off between the brunette shown before and a dark skinned bald male. They both stood across from one another, the female seemingly more angry than the male who had his hands held behind his back. A group of five men and one woman stood behind the brunette.

"Me and Deanna have been in more near death experiences than we'd like to count." The brunette stated with a glare. "What makes this one so different from the others? The enemy was supposed to be on log."

"Okay!" Bethany/Peggy yelled standing to her feet. "Okay!" Her fists connected with the wall where the clips were being played. The normal lights flickered on the clips disappeared. When the room lit up the brunette was sitting on the floor with her back against the wall.

Her head was in her hands and her knees drawn to her chest. Carefully, Steve entered the room and crouched down in front of the trembling girl. Removing her hands from her face the super soldier gave a tight smile, one that was also held a little bit of fear behind it.

"Beth?" He asked quietly.

"Steve?" She questioned in a whisper. The blonde nodded and his smile stretched. With a grin of her own Bethany jumped up and wrapped her arms around his neck, tears streaming down her face. "What happened?" She asked shakily.

"I'll explain later but for now, let's get you to your room. You need the rest." Steve replied.

I know I hadn't updated in a while but I've been writing my other story. I know that isn't an excuse but I'm using it anyway 😂.
