"She was murdered."
"What?" She closed her mouth after her hands stopped in the middle and looked down to see that he had moved to the sofa, his head resting on her lap as she ran her fingers through his silky hair.
He stood up, glancing away from her eyes, then sighed and reverted to his earlier posture. "Yes," he said, his breath spreading over her thighs as a weary sigh accompanied it. "How? Mom said it was an accident, after all.
"That is what I told her; she wouldn't be the way she is now if I hadn't lied to her." With a sigh, he finally reclined and decided not to lie down again. She moved to the far end of the couch where they were sitting and nodded.
Unable to process everything he had said, she sat motionless and asked, "How?" He turned to face her, but before he could open his mouth, a notification rang on the phone next to him. He chose to ignore it at first, but when they continued to snoop around, he grabbed it up and turned to check up, seeing Namjoon's text in the notification bar.
"Take the call!" Tenth of the text states that he discovered Namjoon had contacted him more than three times when he looked at the call record, but the device was on mute, so he was unable to answer.
When Namjoon called, he answered dually with a gentle grumble. As time went on, though, his expression changed to one of severity, which caused her to stiffen up even though she was feeling at ease. She became concerned when she saw him stand up hurriedly.
"Where?" He mumbled, stroking his forehead, which quickly became furrowed lines. He soon hung up the phone, turning to face her, and she got to her feet, asking, "What happened? "Is everything okay?" she said, putting her hand on his shoulder to get his attention.
His shaking of the head indicated that something was clearly off: "Namjoon hyung did it." "He did what?–" she said, looking at him bewildered. "He found mom," he added, cutting her off and making her even more perplexed. "I'm not even certain what you're saying,"
He prevented her from closing her eyes and wobbling to the left by firmly grabbing her shoulder and saying, "I said he found mom, your mom." She opened her eyes and stared up at him, not believing what he had said, then felt her shoulder stiffen as he stated this.
"What are you saying? Are you out of your mind? I don't believe you!” She laughs haltingly, without even letting her eyes meet his, but she stops seeing his face become even more angular. He told the authorities to notify him if somebody with the name was admitted to the hospital, so that's how he was able to find her.
But soon she became anxious. He thinks that because he saw her eyes flutter, but then she smiled broadly and became pleased. "Where? Take me there, please." He nodded, dragging her along as she spoke, her eyes shining with moisture.
Taking the jacket off the hook, he got her to put it on before doing the same with the other one, and they hurriedly left the house. The hospital edifice finally came into view after about 45 minutes of driving.
