I stepped out of the taxi as I could hear my mom yelling to me from the porch. I pull my duffle bag out and shut the door. Looking up through the gusts of snow that was blowing by by face. I sped walked up to the porch giving my mom a hug. I let go of my mom and smile as I grab my duffle as my mom opens the door as we walk inside.
The house smelled like fresh baked cookies and hot coco. I bend down and untied my shoes and took them off. I moved my hair from my face as I got up off the floor and moved my duffle into the living room. Mom comes back into the living room and handed me a warm plate with some cookies and some hot coco. I sat down on the couch as my mom sat down across from me.
" Tell me everything. How's collage? Ive missed you so much. " Mom say
" Ive missed you too mom. School's going well. I passed most of my winter exams. My stats exam was yesterday and results won't be in until after break. Im sure I got a A though. " I said
" That's good babe. How have you been since.. the break up?" mom asks
" it's been.. hard. I miss him. " I admit
" its going to be okay. I got a call from Alex today. He was wondering when you would be back in town" Mom says smiling at me
" Walter? Alex Walter? " I asked I tried so hard not to sound exited.
" Yes. That Alex. " Mom says
" You still like him don't you?" Mom asks
" Was it obvious?" I asked
" Madi.. You started blushing as soon as I said his name. Maybe now is your change if you are ready. " Mom says taking a sip of her hot coco
" I am ready. I just... wonder if he still has that crush on me " I said
" You never know. But I think he might. Go on over. Just be h9ome for dinner" Mom says smiling
" You sure? " I asked surprised
" Yes I am sure. Go. Have fun and say hi for me. Have not seen the boys in a month" Mom says
" I love you" I said
I drank half of my coco and took my cookie. Getting up I walked to my duffle and take my bag to my bedroom to change before heading over. I pull my phone from the duffle packet. I tap my lock screen looking at the time. Alex Walter's name popped up on my lock screen.
Picking up my phone again I sat down on my bed and looked at my lock screen. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach and my heart racing a mile a minute. I open my phone and head to my messages. Tapping on Alex's name.

Hey Mads! Your mom told me you were getting back today. I can't wait to see your beautiful self. Come visit us! We miss our favourite girl.
