I sat on the bed and pulled Spotify up on my phone. I put on Safe and Sound by Capital Cities and placed my phone beside me. The song started to play. Our song started to play. I played this song one of the first nights after I moved here when I was shocked to hear Alex had never heard it. Ever since that night it has been our song. Ive been so worried about him in the hospital.Luckily for me Katherine has been keeping me up to date when I was not able to make it for visiting hours.
I head to my messages with Katherine and noticed she sent me a message.
Kathrine Hey sweet girl. Can't wait to see you this evening. Alex is so exited to see you. If you ever need anything let me know. Xoxo
I put my phone in my pocket and left my bedroom. Looking for mom I found her in the living room reading her book. My mom loves her books and tonight was her bookclub. Knowing her she was finishing it last minute. I smile as I sat down in the chair next to her. How to save a life by The Frey started to play on her phone.
" You nervous for tonight?' mom asks
" A little. " I said
" You will be fine. I believe in you and Alex" Mom said
I smile
" Im gonna go get ready " I said
" Have fun muffin" mom said
I smile. Getting up I headed to the kitchen and grabbed a sprite out of the fridge and put it into a glass. Walking back to the bathroom I turned on the hot water and stopped the tub. Heading to the lights I put them on dim and lit a candle. Grabbing my iPad I propped it on the board we had across the tub. Placing my drink down. I went back to my room and took my chocolates out of my purse I grabbed the other day and headed back to the bathroom. Shutting the door behind me this time.
I tossed a bath bomb in the tub and got undressed. Getting in the tub I looked at my messages on my iPad before heading to netflex to finish my show. I try to forget the last few days. But now could i.I didn't know that Alex was getting worse. Not even his parents knew. I felt so bad. My phone buzzed and saw that Alex texted me. I smile as I look at the heart emoji.
I texted a heart back an placed my phone on the ground.

I said goodbye to my mom and headed out to the car. Unlocking the door I got in and turned it on. Rubbing my hands together as I waited for the heat to kick in. Im so glad it isn't snowing. I thought .I started to drive to Alex's house. The roads were a little buys and I was shocked. Then remember that New years was coming up and everyone was getting ready. I parked where I normally parked behind George's car and finished listening to my song before I got out. Well.. it was our song..Alex and mine. I loved it. I got up grabbing my purse. Locking the door I walked to the door trying not to trip on any pebbles on the way. Kathrine opens the door smiling.
I head inside and give her a big hug.
" Alex is still getting ready. But everyone else is in the living room. I am so glad you're here Madi" Kathrine said
" Me too. " I took my coat off and placed it on the coat wrack. Heading into the living room I see Isaac and Danny sitting on the floor looking at a comic book. I smile as Isaac looks up and sees me.
" Madi!" Isaac said getting up
" hey."I said going him hug
I gave Danny a hug and sat down on the floor with them and looked at the comic book.
" Nathan and Alex are still getting ready" Danny sad
" Is Jackie around? I have something for her" I said
" Should be in the kitchen last time I heard" Danny said
"I'll be right back" I said getting up.
I walked into the kitchen were I saw George and Will grabbing stuff to set the table with. Will smiles when he sees me. I walk over and give him an awkward hug as he is holding the silverware.
" I've missed ya " Will said
" Same even though I saw you the other day " I said
" I know. But we didn't get a chance to talk" Will said
" I heard from Danny that Jackie was in here.I was gonna give her something " I said
" She ran upstairs . You can go up" George said
I smile before heading to the stairs. I knock on her door and waited.Jackie opens the door as Cole was heading out of his bedroom. I gave Cole a wave before heading into Jackie's room.
" Hey you doing okay?" Jackie asks
" yea im fine. I umm wanted to give you this. I know how much you liked it when I showed you the photo and I dont need it anymore. I wanted you to have it" I said n
I pull a blue scarf out of my purse and handed iit to Jackie. It was a dark blue with little white waves on the end making it look like flowers on a vine.
" You sure? " Jackie asks before taking it
" Positive. It is yours. " I said
" Thank you so much. I love it. Its so beautiful" Said Jackie
" Welcome. " I said
" Hey, did you know Kiyle has feelings for Alex? Nathan told us a few days ago. I wasn't that worried but then when she showed up at Breck.. I dont know.. just made me wonder" I said
" I sorta knew but I was never sure. I mean when Alex and I dated she didn't say anything. Im not sure when she started to have feeling for him. I know I didn't know she was going to Brek till Cole and Nathan told me. " Jackie said
"I would't stress over it. Alex loves you. " Jackie said
I smiled and gave Jackie a hug.
" Do you know if she went to see Alex when he was in the hospital? I know I only visited that one day" I said
" Im not sure. I'm sure Kathrine would know more" Jackie said
' Come on lets go see Nathan and Alex" Jackie said
I smile as I got up and followed Jackie out of the room.
