The snow had stopped falling when we reached the car. I opened the door for Madi. She gets in and smiles at me. I love when she smiles at me. I don't know why. It just makes me feel good. I close the door behind her and get in. Turning on the car I blast the heat. We sat letting the car warm up as we look for a pizza place. I scroll google maps as I looked at all the choses.
" How about this one?" Madi asks
She points to the one at the top of my screen. I tap on it and instantly recognize it. They just opened ago. Madi, Nathan, Styler and I all went to the gran opening last year when we came into town to show Styler around. I smiled and looked at Madi who was now also smiling.
" Of corse. I love that place" I said
" Me too" Madi says
I hand my phone to Madi so she could pick the music. I turn my lights on and headed over to the pizza place. The town at night looked so beautiful in the snow. All the people looking at the lights on the trees and stores. I could smell her vanilla perfume. It smelt nice like warm vanilla cupcakes. I parked the car and we sat together until the song ended. I look over and saw she was already looking at me. I smile as I lean in placing my hand on top of hers. Slowly I place my lips on hers. I could taste the vanilla chapstick already. My tongue runs against her top lip before I pull away.
Madi and I get out of the car as i lock the door behind us. Opening the door to the pizza shop the smell of pepperoni pizza hits us in the face. I smile as we head inside and stare at the menu.
" pepperoni, cheese, meat lovers, Hawaiian, mac and cheese " I read out loud
" Mac and cheese?" Madi whispers to me
" yuck" I whisper back.
" two pepperoni?" Madi asks
" definitely " I said.
" two pepperoni slices , a Diet Coke and a sprite and two lava cakes to go please " I said
" that will be 18 even " the guy behind the register said
I pull out my card as Madi hands him cash. I look over at Madi as I put my card back in my wallet. Madi looks down as she sees the photo in my wallet. I shove my wallet in my pocket as I look up at Madi who was looking at me with wide eyes.
" is that me?" Madi asks
" is what you?" I asked
I grabbed out sodas as we walk to a booth and sit down as we wait. The sun was setting as I watch the sunset.
" the photo in your wallet... is that me from my going away party you guys threw for me" Madi asks
" haha yes. Mom made two copies of that photo and I just put it in my wallet. I love that photo of you" I admit
