I woke up to the smell of chocolate chip pancakes. Pulling the covers off me I grab my slippers leaving my room.I walked down the hallway and into the kitchen where I see mom making pancakes. I sit down at the island where mom had left out a plate and some ice water and of corse my greens.Mom knows how much I love my greens. I open the container and add a few greens to my glass and stirred it in.
" Good morning sleepyhead" Mom says
" Morning." I said
I took a sip of my water. Rubbing my eyes I could tell my mom had christmas music on. The fire was going and it was just.. wonderful. Mom put some pancakes on my plate and hands me the syrup. She sits down across from me as I grab the syrup bottle and put some on my pancakes.
" How was it at the Walter boys ? Tell me everything" Mom says
I smile as I take a bite of the pancakes.
" It was fantastic to be back.It felt like old times. Alex and I cached up. He told me about Jackie. The girl who moved in with them because her parents died in that crash. Alex did not tell me much about her yet but I think I am meeting her tonight. Alex invited me to go to the annual christmas party with him this evening. I said yes. It is not a date. " I said
" Oh I also saw Cole. I think the got more attractive since I left hahah" I said
" Oh my gosh! I am so happy you are going to the Christmas party. I have the perfect dress for you to wear" Mom says all exited
" You do?" I ask
" Yes. I have been saving it for just this occasion. I saw it in the store a few months back and thought of you" Mom says
I helped mom clean up the kitchen before we both walked down the hallway to her bedroom. Mom walks to her closet and pulls out a long silk dark red dress. ( looks like red wine). The dress had small spaghetti straps, a slit up the right side, loose tie in the back. Mom walks back over to me handing me the dress. I admire it in my hands then look up at her.
" Go try it on." She says
I head back to my room with the dress. Placing the dress on my bed I changed out of my pyjamas and changed into the silk dress. I tied it in the back and looked in the mirror in awe. Mom was right it was just my thing. I fixed m y hair out of the messy ponytail and walked out of my room. Walking into mom's room again I waited till she looked up from her phone.
" Wow Muffin.. you look stunning. Alex is going to be speechless. " Mom says
" Thank you so much. I love this. I love you" I said
I walked over to my mom and gave her a big hug.
" I love you too Muffin" Mom says
" Do you think my strappy black heels or my normal ones?" I ask
