Chapter 5

Natalia
"You took your time," Regulus states with a small smile when I sit down at the table in the back corner of the library,
"Yeah yeah, what am I helping you with," I say opening up my book on patronus' and another on animagi trying to see if you can have two animagi like you can have two patronus',
"I need help with DADA and Transfiguration," He says quietly pulling out two pieces of parchment with the requirements of each. Telling Regulus I'll be back as I find the books he will need. After roaming around the library for a bit I find both the books and make my way back to our table. I start by explaining how the wand's placement and exact pronunciation are extremely important for transfiguration. Then move on to how it's not just spells for DADA and most of the time has something to do with our minds. After a while, Regulus finishes and we end up talking about the different houses' common rooms and the spell on the stairs.
"You know I think somewhere in Gryffindor Manor there is the counter spell for the stairs," I think out loud,
"Wait really?" Regulus questions curious,
"I mean yeah there is lots of random stuff in the study," I shrug trying to remember Godric's study and the placement of his stuff,
"What other stuff is in there?"
"Well there are diaries from all the founders, blueprints of the castle, a book of all the rules that some people will have forgotten, ummm there is a bunch of other stuff too but I can't really remember off the top of my head," I list off each thing in my fingers keeping count and Regulus looks at his watch his eyes widening as he quickly packs up his stuff.
"I am so sorry I have to go Nat I'm supposed to be at the quidditch train soon,"
"All good Reggie," I shrug with a smile and bring him into a quick hug, he starts off really stiff but slowly relaxes into the hug, "Listen, Reggie, I know everything isn't great in your home but I hope you know you can always come to me for anything ok?" I say gently while my chin is resting on top of his head,
"I know but they are still family," Reggie says pulling back grabbing his bag, and slinging it over his shoulder, "I'll see you same time next week," he says quickly walking out of the library,
"Bye Reggie," I whisper even though he's already gone. I open both my books and my diary and start reading the two books trying to cross reference to see if I need to go through the whole animagi process again or if I can just shift into the wolf, sighing in frustration, I slam the books closed and rub my temples together before opening my diary and writing the ingredients and method for wolf's bane.
"Hey Natalia," I male voice behind me says quietly but I pretty much jump out of my chair slamming the book shut, before slipping off my chair,
"Fucks sake," I grumble before looking up and seeing Remus towering over me with his hand out for me to grab,
"You know this is feeling a bit too familiar," He chuckles helping me up,
"Yeah maybe so," I grumble before sitting back down, "Can I do something for you?" I ask politely, looking at him and waiting for him to sit down, as if he suddenly gets the hint Remus sits down opposite me,
"Yeah, I was wondering if you could help me with my herbology homework," He huffs placing it on the table, but not just one multiple, unrolling them I see they are all done differently but are all covered in words being crossed out a billion times,
"Wow, I don't think I've seen it this bad before," I laugh before handing them back to him and taking out one of my spare pieces of parchment, "Come on I'll explain it to you," I smile before starting.

Remus
Natalia walks past the table I'm studying at by myself since Lily mixed up her plans with Snape. My eyes trail her as she looks around for some books once she has two she walks back past and heads toward the back of the library. Turning back to my Herbology homework, I scribble over something I just wrote then change it in little ways, but as I look back at the assignment there are so many times I've crossed something out that I have to pull out another new parchment. After a while and many fails later I decide to see if I can find Natalia, I'm just asking for help with homework, I think to myself before heading to the back of the library. When I finally see her she's hugging Sirius' brother, and he actually smiles before walking off, What the? I question before making my way back to my own table and try to have another go at the homework but can't seem to get the image of Regulus and Natalia hugging. Before I know it I hear a SNAP! Looking down at my hand, I see a broken quill. Signing I pull out a new one before giving up and making my way back to Natalia's table,
"Hey Natalia," I say from behind her, she pretty much jumps out of her chair and slams the books she's writing in shut before falling off the chair,
"Fucks sake," She grumbles and I move so I'm in front of her holding out my hand. Natalia looks up and our eyes connect and my breath catches for a second,
"You know this is feeling a bit too familiar," I chuckle thinking about running into her at Diagon Alley before I help her up,
"Yeah maybe so," She says under her breath before sitting back down, "Can I do something for you?" She asks politely, looking at me and waiting for me to sit down, I just stand there for a second before being hit with the realisation I'm just standing there and quickly move into the seat opposite her.
"Yeah, I was wondering if you could help me with my herbology homework," I huff throwing all my failed attempts on the table. Natalia starts unrolling them and reading over them,
"Wow, I don't think I've seen it this bad before," She laughs before handing them back to me and taking out a piece of parchment from her bag, "Come on I'll explain it to you," She smiles softly before starting. After Natalia gives me the main idea she pulls out her own work and shows it to me so I have an extra idea of what to do, while writing the essay I am constantly looking up from my page to catch glimpses of Natalia. She's constantly switching from reading two different books and writing in a diary,

"What are you reading?" I ask after finishing my essay,

"Just some books on patronus'," She shrugs closing her book to look up at me, "Did you finish?"

"Yeah, thanks for helping me by the way,"

"All good, how are you and your gang of Marauders? Got any pranks up your sleeves?" She smiles at the shocked expression on my face,

"Word gets around then," I respond still in shock she knew about the group name we have for ourselves,

"Stop avoiding, you got any pranks lined up?" She questions again looking curious,

"Yeah, we have a prank planned for..." The rest of my sentence is cut off by a hand covering my mouth,

"Moony!" James calls from behind me,

"No spilling details to the goody to shoes!" Sirius continues grumpily, "She'll sell us out," he huffs removing his hand from my mouth when suddenly a loud bang on the table catches our attention, and the screech of a chair sliding against the floor,

"Ha! Goody to shoes, yeah right!" Natalia yells glaring at all of us while throwing her books in her bag,

"Yeah you are legit studying if I didn't know better I'd say you were here for hours," Sirius teases with a smirk,

"Yeah, I've been here for hours not studying most of the time though. Also, I've decided your brother is the better Black," She snaps back and starts walking away, before turning back, "Also why so grumpy with me? All I did was turn you down," She smirks at Sirius before walking away leaving all of us in different states. Slowly packing up my stuff, I turn to see James just standing there not sure of what happened and Sirius is glaring at the spot she left,

"I mean she's not wrong mate," James starts turning to Sirius,

"That is not why I was grumpy!" Sirius starts,

"Really cause she is one of two people who have turned you down, and you are grumpy with both," I add standing up and we start walking out of the library to the Transfigurations classroom where Peter is doing tutoring with McGonagall,

"Well, who could this down!" Sirius exaggerates flapping his arms around,

"Obviously her and Marlene," James jokes,

"Yeah, yeah let's get back to Moony. WHY WERE YOU ABOUT TO TELL HER ABOUT THE PRANKS!" Sirius screams whirling at me,

"Cause she seemed curious," I shrug,

"She would have snitched on us!" James adds,

"Sure whatever," I say not paying attention anymore, and start thinking about the full moon which is next Friday,

"Moony! Remus! MOONY!" Sirius yells in my ear and I shake my head before facing Prongs and Padfoot,

"What?" I question completely oblivious to the conversation they were having before,

"We said did you see Natalia in the library with Regulus?" Sirius asks,

"Um yeah, I saw them hugging before Regulus rushed out," I shrug feeling a small pang,

"THEY WHAT!?"
