Bassinet 57

"Sara" I look at El and she's giving me a tired look.

We're finally getting out of the hospital today and we're waiting on Katie to come back with my car.

"Come here love" I say as I open my arms the best I can considering that I'm holding Dani.

"I'm so tired and I just want to sleep" El says.

Honestly same.

The fact that there's no return date on this gremlin is a shame.

I was going to be waking up with her last night but El didn't agree with that and said I need more than 5 hours of sleep spread throughout night.

That's just bullshit and she knows it.

I can easily function without sleep for four days and after that I just have to get 24 hours and then I'm good again.

"I know love but you told me to sleep so you kind of only have yourself to blame" I say as I hold her up against me so she doesn't fall.

"If you didn't have Dani and I could actually stand up, I'd hit you" she grumbles out, making me laugh and then we see Katie walking up to us.

"How's my favorite family" she asks as she walks up to us and takes the bag while I put Dani into the safety seat.

"Dani and I are good but El's barely able to stand up or stay awake" I inform her as I pick up the seat while Katie and I help El as much as we can.

We finally get home so I offer El a hand out of the car before getting Dani and we all get inside, El plops herself on the sofa and Katie comes with me upstairs.

Only 1 teeny tiny little problem...

"We forgot to put together the bassinet" I say to Katie.

"Bloody hell" she sighs and looks at Daniella "Couldn't you at least wait until we finished that" she says as I nod my head in agreement.

"STOP BLAMING THE BABY" El yells from downstairs.

"I say we leave her with miss moody over there while we finish setting it up" I say with a grin as my plan is honestly pure genius.

We go downstairs and I place Dani on El's chest as she's half sitting, half laying on the sofa. She's almost asleep so I just place some pillows around her and cover them with a blanket before Katie and I go to work on that bassinet thingy.

"Shouldn't we be building it in her room and not ours" I ask her since the boxes are in our bedroom.

"No...the baby sleeps here for the first few weeks and plus, it's a lot easier to get her when she wakes up" she says with a laugh as I let out a groan.

We're in the middle of putting it together when Leah appears in the doorway along with Harry who decides to run at me and crash into my chest.

"Hey bud, have you been good for Leah" I ask him as I put him down on my lap.

"Yesss, we make cookies and watch movie with frogs" he tells me excitedly.

Frogs?

"The princess and the frog" Leah says which makes me catch on.

"Where's baby" he asks in a curious voice.

"She's sleeping with mummy downstairs so do you want to help us build her bed until she wakes up" he gives me a nod so I hand him a screwdriver and let him help me with the screws.
