Y/n POV
I jumped slightly at the sudden voice behind me. "Hi Ginjima! You're in my class right? Atsumu told me this is where I have my first class." I smiled at him and internally sighed with relief. I didn't want to walk in alone.
Ginjima looked way more awake than me so it took me a moment to catch up with him when he started talking. "Yeah, this is the right room. You don't know anyone in else in our class beside Kosaku right?" He asked.
"No, pretty much everyone's completely new to me. Are we early? There's not really too many people around." I looked around only seeing a few people walking into classrooms and talking to friends.
Ginjima nodded. "Class starts in a few minutes, but most people arrive in around 3 minutes." He gestured towards the door. "We can go in and see who else is already here."
He opened the door and I followed him in. There were already some people inside but only 4. Kosaku wasn't there yet and I didn't know anyone else. I was going to ask if we have assigned seats but Ginjima beat me to it.
"You can technically sit wherever but that's where I usually sit." He pointed at a desk near the window towards the front of the classroom. Then he turned to me apologetically. "I'd offer you the place next to me but my friend always sits there and he would absolutely hold a grudge."
I must have looked disappointed or annoyed because he immediately tried to reassure me. "Don't worry, I'm sure we'll find you a spot next to someone that you'll get along with great!"
I scanned the room, trying to figure out if I could sit in any of the free spots or if someone had already 'claimed' them. Thankfully, I never had to make that call because moments later the door opened again and a girl strolled in.
While walking into the classroom she took off her headphones and stuffed them in her backpack. Then she looked up and saw me and Ginjima standing in the middle of the room, not making any moves to sit down.
She stared for a second and then smiled and walked over to us. "Gin!" She greeted him with a quick hand clasp and turned to look at me. "Is this our new classmate? You didn't tell me you know them!" I waved at her nervously which just made her smile more.
I looked at Gin with the silent question of who is this person in mind. He looked much more at ease with the situation than he had earlier. "I didn't know her back when you asked me." He answered. "But anyway, this is Y/n Miya. Her brothers are on my team so I met her over the weekend."
The girl gasped in mock offense. "And you didn't tell me about her? Wow, rude. I always tell you when I meet a cute boy you might be int-" Ginjima cut her off with an elbow to the side and a nervous laugh. "Haha, that's ok Mira! Anyway, Y/n this is Mira, arguably our most annoying classmate, but allegedly a pretty cool person."
Mira nudged him back. "I can introduce myself asshole. Anyway, hi Y/n I'm Mira, Ginjima's best friend who is way prettier and more interesting than he is! I saw you eyeing the seats earlier, do you want to sit next to me? Gin probably hasn't offered and besides I'll be much better at showing you the ropes on your first day here."
Until now I'd just been watching their exchange with interest while trying to suppress my laughter, so I was slightly taken aback when Mira addressed me directly. "Yeah, no, of course. I'd love to sit next to you!" Mira swung her arm around my shoulders with a grin and pulled me towards the back of the classroom.
"This is where I, and now you, sit!" We both put our bags on the floor and sat down. I looked back at Mira who cocked her head slightly, causing a few strands of hair to fall onto her face. She didn't react to it though, instead just saying: "I think you're going to fit in great here."
Osamu POV
After I'd split off from Atsumu and Y/n I headed up a floor to where my classroom was. When I walked into the classroom I kinda hoped Suna would already be inside so I could go sit down next to him. But luck wasn't on my side that day and he wasn't there yet.I just sat down where we usually sit and hoped that he wanted to talk to me again. Of course hoping hadn't helped much a few seconds ago, but since I had no way to affect and no idea what Suna would do, I couldn't do much except wait.
While I was waiting for him a few more students came in and then our teacher, who greeted us and started getting ready for our lesson. After that more and more of my classmates poured in through the door and seats started filling up.
The seat next to mine stayed empty though and while I watched the door in hopes Suna would be the next person to walk in, I was aware of the clock above the door getting closer to the beginning of the lesson.
3 minutes before the bell rang Suna finally showed up. I stared at him but he wouldn't look in my direction. Instead he avoided his usual seat and sat down at a free desk without a single word. I sank into my chair and tried to remind myself of what Atsumu said. It's not your fault. It's not because of something that you did. It's not your fault. It's not your fault.
A/N Hi ! I'm so sorry I'm publishing this chapter a bit late but I hope you like it. I'm glad I get to introduce a new character and I'm sure I'm going to love seeing more of Mira, so I hope you all will too! I hope you're next two weeks are great and I hope to see you then!
