Akagi POV
"Akagi! Don't you have to go soon!" My mom called when she passed the kitchen, where I was trying to finish my physics homework last second.

I turned to look at the time idly and then took a moment to process what time the clock was showing. The realisation hit me like a volleyball straight to the face. Wait... Oh shit.

I rushed to pack my stuff and took a second to grab my jacket and put on my shoes. Then I was running out of the house with a quick 'thank you!' and 'goodbye!' to my mom.

I made it to our meeting point in less than half of the time it would usually take me walking. But while I was there very quickly, that also meant that I was severely out of breath when I reached Aran and Kita who were thankfully still waiting there for me.

"Look how the turn tables." I mumbled under my breath and silently laughed at my own joke. Aran smiled at me. "Good to see everything's back to normal." "Except for the fact that you were here earlier than me." Kita added.

The gears in my head were slow to start turning and it took until we started walking for realisation to hit. "Hey, I am not late that often! Besides you two are unreasonably early most days, so if anything it's your fault!"

"Mhm, sure Akagi. So what was it today?" Aran wasn't even trying to hide the amusement in his voice. "Oh, shut up." I countered eloquently.

Afterwards it was silent for a few seconds. "... It was physics."

Aran erupted into cheers. "Yes! Kita, you owe me ice-cream!" He poked our currently very quiet friend in the shoulder while celebrating his victory.

Kita turned to me and sighed. "Honestly Akagi, I don't know why I bet against Aran on this one." I shrugged him off. "You guys are rude. Also, I want some of that ice-cream."

Kita sighed again in response. "This team is giving me grey hairs." He joked.

Mira POV
"Hellooo Y/n!" I greeted my new friend, who was already sat at our desk, as enthusiastically as I could while running on 3 hours of sleep. "Sleep well?" I asked her while grabbing my stuff from my bag.

"Yup. Earlier than yesterday, too, since Atsumu didn't decide to keep me and Osamu up to keep him entertained." I nodded in response and let out a small hum. How those two are related, I have no idea.

I would've continued talking with her, but I noticed our teacher walk to the front of the classroom, an action which was quickly followed by the bell ringing. I groaned as quietly as possible and buried my head in my arms.

I hate maths. Especially today. Y/n put her hand on my arm comfortingly. She looked significantly less dead inside than me but she was looking at me with sympathy and silent encouragement.

I shot her a grateful smile and went back to putting as little effort as possible into paying attention while still catching the important parts of the lesson.

Honestly, I was an expert at it by now. I could give classes on 'how to doze in class without missing the lesson'. I guess I'd need a better name first.

I looked back up at the board so I wouldn't miss our teacher's explanation. Trigonometry sucks. I heard Y/n choke back a laugh beside me. Did I say that out loud? Oh well, who cares. She didn't react to that thought. It's fine whether I did or didn't.

"Hey Mira, are you feeling alright?" Y/n asked after the lesson had ended. "I mean, I'll live. I just didn't get much sleep last night. 3 hours." I added at the end when I saw her open her mouth.

"Hm. Not ideal." She pointed out. "Is there any reason you didn't sleep much?" I shrugged. "I was working on a personal project. It's a long story." Ah yes, the universal code for 'don't ask me about it'.

Y/n seemed to get the sentiment behind my comment and proceeded to derail the conversation a bit. I'm not entirely sure how, but we soon ended up in a messy discussion about which types of pop are actually good or bearable (and which ones absolutely suck).

We quite obviously did not share an opinion when it came to this part of music. Some might say it's because I'm very disagreeable when it comes to my hobbies and interests. To those I would say, just cause something is true, doesn't mean you have to say it.

As it is, we stayed on that topic for much longer than ever necessary, only stopping again because the next lesson had started.

A/N Bit of a shorter one today, sorry about that. Not proofread and some of it was written quite late at night, so please point out any potential mistakes that might have made their way into the chapter. Have a great next two weeks!
