The next day, after their joyous wedding celebration and their first wedding night, Joseph and Historia were sitting solemnly in the throne room. In front of them, military officers from the Military Police and Garrison Regiment were standing, waiting for members of Survey Corps to arrive and ready to pledge allegiance to their new leaders: not just Historia, but also Joseph, who now carried the title of Consort King, bestowed upon him by his marriage.
However, the new title wasn't the only thing that changed after last night. He transitioned from Joseph Nelarna to Joseph Nelarna Reiss after taking Historia's last name. Joseph stood by her side and Historia and sat on the throne while the oaths of allegiances from all branches were delivered.
In front of them were Commander Nile of the Military Police and other high-ranking MP officers; Commander Pixis from the Garrison, along with his Captains. Finally, Commander Erwin, Section Commander Hange and Captain Levi walked into the room.
Erwin: Your Highness, it is the honor of myself, and my fellow military officers to be here and swear our allegiance to you.
Historia: The pleasure is all ours, Commander.
After exchanging smiles, acknowledging their professional and almost friendly relationship, Erwin gave a nod to Nile and the entire brass slowly dropped one by one to one knee and bowed their heads.

Erwin: I, Erwin Smith, Commander of the Survey Corps, do solemnly swear my unwavering allegiance to Queen Historia Reiss and Consort King Joseph Nelarna Reiss. In the face of the Titans and the challenges that threaten humanity within the walls, I pledge my life, my skills, mind, body, soul, and my determination to protect and serve our rightful monarch. I will lead the Survey Corps with unyielding resolve, facing the Titans and any other adversaries that may threaten the safety and prosperity of our people. I vow to uphold the principles of freedom, justice, and the survival of humanity within the walls. May my actions be guided by the wisdom and strength of my King and Queen, and may I prove myself worthy of their trust and the trust of the people we serve. In the name of humanity and in service to the crown, I willingly accept the responsibility of defending our nation against the Titans and all who seek to harm us. This oath I swear, with my heart and soul dedicated to the cause, until my last breath within these walls.
Commanders Nile and Pixis, along with everyone else in the room, solemnly swore the same oath before rising from their spots. At that moment, a weight settled on Historia's shoulders, as the realization of her newfound status as the most powerful figure within the walls completely hit her. The delicate balance between the military, the monarchy, and the nobility had shifted, with most of the nobles purged and Queen Historia was now the undisputed monarch, holding total authority.
As Erwin rose with everyone, he spoke clearly and with admiration
Erwin: It will be our privilege to serve you both.
Hearing this, Historia gently smiled and graciously replied.
Historia: Thank you, Commander, it's my honor to have you all by our side. I shall rule as effectively as I can.
