Payback For Two

Reiner in his Armored Titan slowly walked towards the inner part of the District, a place where he thought he saw the retreating Scouts. Despite being clear of his goal, his mind was completely foggy, unable to retract any memories of the last hour, before his fight with Scouts. He tried to brush those thoughts off as his focus was on hiding the enemy.

Reiner: Do they think if they run away like cowards, they have a better chance to survive?

Suddenly, he heard a sound of ODM gear on his side and as he turned, a jolt of shock struck him upon witnessing Joseph quickly approaching him with a malevolent grin plastered across his face.

Joseph: Good to see you awake, Reiner.

In the next instance, he struck Reiner's eyes with two of his Kagune claws, plunging them deep into his skull. The blinding pain elicited a roar from Reiner, who swiped blindly to smash his nemesis as Joseph gracefully evaded the massive fist attack.

The distraction and blindness provided a perfect opening for Annie, who zipped through the air, flying now above the Armored Titan, she sent both her Thunder Spears into Reiner's nape. Quickly cutting the connecting strings, Annie retreated as two explosions severely damaged the already worn-out Armor on Reiner's nape. Sensing the exposure, Reiner instinctively shielded his nape with his Titan's hands.

As Annie landed on the same rooftop Joseph was on, they looked at each other and exchanged a nod before sprinting together towards their enemy for the second attack. They activated their ODM gear and each targeted one armpit, with their blades and Kagune ready to use.

With one simultaneous move, both made a sudden turn towards their enemy and swiping near the ground, they landed deep cuts in both of Titan's armpits as his hands dropped limp from their nape-protective spot.

Desperate to protect himself, Reiner tried to focus his energy on the nape and tried to solidify it using Hardening. However, that's when he felt two feet land heavily on his nape. Reiner widened his blinded eyes as he realized he had no way to escape it now.

Joseph: Got you!

With one swift swing of his hand, Joseph sliced the muscles covering the hiding place of the Shifter as Joseph pulled Warrior out of his Titan and threw him at the closest building. The throw was strong enough to leave an impact spot on the place Reiner hit it as he slowly fell to the ground.

Despite being extremely weakened, Reiner tried to get up, only to trace a sudden move of Kagune's claws cutting off both of his legs. Falling again, the blonde Warrior hissed in pain as Joseph jumped off the disappearing body of the Armored Titan and started approaching the beaten nemesis, staring sternly into his eyes.

Reiner: You, you think you can-

Without breaking eye contact, white-haired Scout didn't let Reiner finish as two of his Kagune claws each wrapped around Reiner's elbows. Then, the next second, they made the grip so strong that it instantly broke all bones there were near joints, and then completely ripped the arms off the body. Reiner's eyes opened up as wide as they could, he was hyperventilating, using all of his power to not let the pain take over him.

As Joseph was finally close enough to the blonde Warrior, he retracted his Kagune as he grabbed Reiner by the collar of his shirt and delivered a forceful punch to his face, shattering his nose. Blood oozed slowly from the injury, hindered by the ongoing regeneration process in Reiner's body, still focused on regenerating his gone arms and legs.

Grimacing in pain, Reiner clenched his teeth as Joseph placed him on the ground and began rifling through his pockets and clothes.

Joseph: Where is it?
