Why?

The question was, why...

Why her heart was beating like a drum.

Why she felt her heart breaking into pieces...

Why was she feeling the tears accumulating within her eyes.

Why his statement was hurting her.

Hurting her so much that she was able to feel the pain in her heart.

Was he betraying her?

She wasn't in love but still it pained her.

She was forced in the marriage but still it pained her.

She hadn't accepted this marriage but still it pained her.

Maybe she had began to....

She brushed off the thought.

He was cheating on her with Farah.

A lone tear escaped her eye as she sat alone in her room. She cleared the tear as soon as it fell.

Prostitutes like her had no share on love.

Non-virgin unmarried women like her did not deserve to get married.

Tainted women like her were only supposed to quench the thirst of the sexual arousals of men.

She had been taught this whole life.

Her whole life these words were being fed to her.

The partial reason she had not and would not accept this marriage by heart but it pained her.

She was not supposed to feel pain. In the end, when Moosa would know her truth, he would abandon her eventually.

He would never love her. That was the cause she didn't want to accept him.

Suppressing the arising sobs within her throat, she got up. There was this curiosity in her heart, a question of which she so wanted the answer of,

Will he take her?

To know the answers her mind had been pondering over, she got up and moved towards his study with slow steps.

Once she reached closer, suddenly the door to the study opened and Farah came out with tears welling up her eyes. Slight marks of finger prints on her neck.

Her head shot towards Roshanay as she came closer to her, "More than him wanting to marry me, I want Moosa to see his dear wife's real face for which he is abandoning me," she hissed venomously with anger dancing in her eyes, "Sooner or later, I'll prove it to him that you and Ayyan have an extramarital affair and do you even know what would be the punishment of betraying the suzerain of the most dreaded mafia? A painful death. You know how painful can your death be, just like a poison that kills slowly yet venomously, inflicting its agony on each and every cell of your body. Maybe I'll be able to convince you to have mercy on you and just behead you," she whispered near her

"He is not like that," she whispered in a trance.

Farah scoffed giving out an irritating chortle, "Once your affair is revealed, then judge that. You will also get your children killed if there would be any by the time I reveal your truth so don't start dreaming just now of carrying his babies in your bellies. I won't let you sit on my place. To the place where I belong. Just me. As the Queen of the mafia," she finished, "Slut," at the end she spatted with disgust as an expletive and walked away but all that remained in her ears was,

A painful death

A painful death awaited for her.

On the cue, Moosa came out and found her standing paled at her place.
