Maisie sat on the hospital bed, nibbling on a square of ambrosia. Her knuckles wrapped in gauze and an ace bandage. She was filling out Will Solace's: Incident Report. A sheet of paper he liked injured patients to fill out, to track where people get most injured.
Name: Maisie Kline Cabin: 11
Injury Type ▢ Archery Training ▢ Obstacle Course ▢ Capture the Flag ▢ Other Combat Sports
Maisie ignored the options and added her own square underneath.
▢ Percy Jackson
Maisie checked off her new box: ✓
"You're good to go," Will said, cleaning up his station. "And hurry up, before Percy barges in here."
"Did I hear I could come in now?" Percy asked, popping his head through the doorway.
Will groaned.
"I'm fine," Maisie informed, holding up her bandaged hand.
Percy sighed and shuffled into the room. "I just feel like it was my fault."
"It wasn't."
Percy snatched the paper off her bed. "You literally wrote down that it is my fault!"
"It was just a joke," Maisie laughed.
"Hmm," Will hummed. "Maybe I should add him to the list permanently though. I mean, more people are in here cause of Percy than Archery training. Let's be real."
Percy blew his hair out of his face and sat on the cot next to Maisie, pouting.
Will put away the excess bandages and said, "Well, I'm not supposed to leave two people alone together in a cabin—"
Percy blushed. Yeah, that was a new rule that had been instituted, once Silena and Beckendorf started dating.
"—But it looks like you need a minute," Will continued. "Just don't touch anything, and let me know if it's still bothering you. But it should heal fine on its own though."
"Thanks Will," Maisie called as the boy saluted and walked out of the room.
Percy looked at her bandaged knuckles. "I'm sorry my big noggin broke your hand."
"You didn't break my hand," Maisie sighed. "I'm fine. When's the meeting?"
"Right now," Percy answered, though he didn't sound too concerned about being late. He picked up the pen Maisie had been writing with and started to write his name on her bandaged hand.
"What are you doing?"
"Signing your cast?" Percy said, as if it were obvious. He stuck out his tongue in concentration and proceeded to write his name in big sloppy handwriting.
