"Everybody please put your thumb in the air," Mac Miller sang from the radio of Blair's beat up Honda car.

"1, 2, 3, 4, some crazy-ass kids come and knocked up on your door—" Kyle and Blair spat from the driver and passenger seat.

Maisie was busy teaching Tilly and Tucker the correct timing to hit the roof of the vehicle. "Soo—" KNCOCK KNOCK "Let 'em in!" KNOCK KNOCK "Let 'em in!" KNOCK KNOCK "Let 'em in!" KNOCK KNOCK

"Alright!" Blair said. "Don't break my roof now."

Maisie sat in the in between Tilly and Tucker in middle row of the car. She'd just gotten an early dinner with her siblings, who were in the city. She hadn't seen all of them at the same time since Christmas.

Tucker held a piece of paper in his lap, scribbling on it with a green crayon. He'd huff every time Blair made the car jolt and he messed up his art work.

"Whatcha making, Tucker?" Maisie asked, scooting closer to him and trying to look at his drawing.

He held it to his chest so she couldn't see and looked at her warily. Tucker had turned into a shy kid. Different than the blissfully oblivious toddler Maisie remembered. He was quiet and cautious. He would flinch if someone spoke too loud.

Out of all her siblings, aside from Sienna, Maisie definitely had the hardest time rekindling a relationship with her younger brother. Blair and Kyle were easy. Because they felt guilty. They craved her forgiveness. And Maisie was too quick to give it to them.

Tilly had been much too young, when Maisie was kicked out, to harbor any blame. But she didn't need a desperate reason to be closer to Maisie. She just simply wanted to.

It was a different case with Tucker. He didn't really remember a time when Maisie lived in the same house as him. All Maisie could do was hope to make new memories with him. But with how infrequently she saw him, added with him being very reserved, she was finding it hard to make progress.

Maisie tried a smile. "I like to draw too."

He peeked at his drawing before holding it back to his chest. "What do you draw?"

"Nothing that's as good as your masterpiece, I'm sure."

Tucker looked at her a second longer, before choosing to turn and look out the window.

"Maybe you'll show me when it's finished," Maisie said lighthearted, feeling her heart pinch.

At least Tilly was always chatty. Maisie didn't think she could get sad talking to her. Until Tilly asked why Maisie did not come to her school play, and Maisie had to refrain from snapping about how she never received an invitation. She just inhaled and lightly asked Tilly to tell her all about the production of Annie she had starred in.

"I was orphan number 12!" Tilly said excitedly.

"You're a star, Til."

"Remember when Maisie was little," Kyle chimed in from the passenger seat, "And she fell over in the Christmas play?"
