The beeping sound filled the room. The two unconscious figures lay on the hospital bed as Yuta and Winwin held onto Yoonna's hands while occasionally checking on Mark if he had woken up.

"The doctor said that they are alright, just some rest is needed," Kun entered the room with a report in his hands, sighing at the sight of the two.

Yuta looked up at him, acknowledging his words. "What happened?"

Kun sighed again, "Unfortunately, the previous HJ team leader, Bang, came to our cafe..."

"Bang? Wasn't he the one that was reported for abusing the competitors that compete with them?" Winwin questioned and the older male nodded.

"He was banned from the gaming industry and had been sent to counselling. But I think he escaped recently and the police have been trying to track him since then. If I had exited the office earlier, this wouldn't have happened..." Kun sighed into his hands.

Yuta patted his shoulder, comforting him. "It's not your fault, no one had expected this to happen. I just hope they would wake up soon."
Kun nodded.

"Have you informed her family?"

"We called her sister, but she's on outstation these days. Her brother had to attend school, so we insisted on taking care of her until she recovers." Yuta informed, slightly bending his back so that he could rest his chin on his palm on the girl's bed.

"I guess I have to close the café for now, in case some of the reporters and customers tried to disrupt," Ken glanced at the silent girl lying on the bed.

"Won't the company force you to open?"

"They won't," Kun shook his head. "Mark was involved, it would do the company no good to continue if the case hadn't been settled."

"What case?" A hoarse voice sounded from the other bed. The three males glanced at Mark, seeing that he had already woke up and was having difficulty sitting up. Kun walked over to his bed and helped him, remember to prevent touching the wound on his head.

"You are awake," Yuta passed him a cup of water, letting him chug it down.

"What are you guys talking about?" After clearing the dryness in his throat, Mark questioned again.

Kun gave him the report from the police he received after they took Bang to the station. "Do you remember what happened?"

"No."

"You really don't remember?" Yuta tried to confirm with him.

"I don't. I could only remember I blacked out," Mark tried to recall what happened before he passed out, but to no avail.

"Oh, and I think I called Kun hyung."

"You saw Yoonna being hit by the HJ's ex-team leader and tried to pry him off from her, but he was too strong and you hit the table corner, causing loss of blood. Yoonna was hit until she went unconscious. Luckily Kun heard your calls and brought you two to the hospital in time."

"Oh," Mark nodded in understanding. "How is she now?"

"She's still out," Winwin softly said as he looked over to the said girl's bed. The peaceful sleeping figure was bandaged neatly on her bruises, a neck supporter placed on her neck in case she woke up and accidentally moved too much.

"She was lucky the punches landed a few cm away from her ribcage, but her neck was injured badly."

Mark sighed at the sight of the girl. "I could have called the police before trying to save her."

"It's not your fault too, Mark," Yuta patted him. "Now we would have to wait for her to recover and wake up."

ahhh.... not a really good chapter to update on Christmas so I am updating it right now

I wanted to update a chapter yesterday but the plot for this one isn't that auspicious so to make up for it, I'm publishing it today hehe

2024 is right at the corner, it's the last few days of 2023, so don't waste the last few days to do whatever you wanted to do in 2023 and haven't done in your bucket list! Don't leave regrets (like I did whoops, but I'm filling it right now)!

Maybe for the next chapter it will be updated in 2024 already, so once again your writer Ning over here wishes you the best for the last few days of 2023!
