Ni-ki sat at his desk, his head in his hands. "Omg, this is so stupid..." he whispered to himself as he looked at the sheet of paper. "When am I ever going to need Trigonometric functions as a K-pop idol?" Ni-ki mumbled in frustration, the young boy sighed before picking up his pencil,
and attempting the challenging math homework once more.

Jungwon walked into his and Ni-ki's shared room, to find the younger passed out at his desk. The older sighed and put him to bed, planning to speak to him in the morning.

Ni-ki woke up to the sun gleaming through the blinds, directly into his line of sight. He groaned as his body began to wake up, slowly opening his eyes. He rolled over, trying to hide from the sun, avoiding the inevitable of getting up and being a functioning member of society. After a few moments, Ni-ki gave up and lifted himself from the bed, into a sitting position. He grabbed his phone and checked the time, "I woke up early again..." Ni-ki thought to himself as he pulled off his covers and began getting ready for the day. It wasn't long after that Ni-ki was completely dressed in uniform, and ready to go to school.

Ni-ki took his phone, plopped on the couch, and began to scroll through various social media platforms. Nothing out of the ordinary for him, just random memes and other things. "Good morning Ni-ki, you're up early," Heeseung said, walking in and relieving a yawn. Ni-ki looked over before responding "Good morning Hyung, yeah I woke up before my alarm," Ni-ki replied before turning his attention to the doe-eyed male. "Dang, that's not good Ni-ki..." Heeseung said sitting beside him. "Eh, it happened, I should be studying right now, I have a test today," Ni-ki said, putting down his phone. "What's it on?" "Trig functions," "Ew."

Not long after, Ni-ki had his books, homework, and calculator out, studying with the help of Heeseung. The two did their best at making sense of the right triangles on the page, luckily, it beginning to become a little more understandable. "So if you get the cosine -1 of 12/13 it will give you theta, I believe," Heeseung said as he looked up from the YouTube guide on his phone. Ni-ki worked the problem as his Hyung told him to, "Thank god, it worked" Ni-ki said smiling. Heeseung lifted his hand for a high five as the two had a small celebration. A few stern knocks could be heard from across the living room as Heeseung stood up to answer it.

Ni-ki got up and was soon about to leave with their manager and Jungwon to school. "Good luck you too, do good on the test Ni-ki," Heeseung said with a smile. The two gave a thumbs-up before leaving. The quiet ride to the school nearly lulled Ni-ki back to his dreams, but was instead rudely interrupted by the manager stopping in front of the school. "Alright as usual, don't do anything stupid, don't get into fights, and keep out of anything that could get you into a scandal," their manager said, unlocking the doors. The two complied and left for their first classes.

The day dragged on for quite some time until eventually, the dreaded test came up. "Alright students, sit down, I'll pass out the test, depending on how fast you finish, I should be able to get your scores back to you by the end of the day," his teacher said as the tardy bell rang. As he handed out the dreaded pieces of paper, Ni-ki felt nervous, he was scared, but also not. "Me and Heeseung worked it out this morning, I should be fine, right?" Ni-ki began thinking as he was soon taken back into reality by the piece of paper being slid onto his desk, face down. He carefully flipped the paper over and began working on the test.

Nearly an hour later, Ni-ki finished his test. He let out a small sigh of relief as he handed in the test. "I'm so exhausted, I wasn't expecting 30 questions..." Ni-ki thought to himself as he looked out the window. By the end of the day, Ni-ki felt nervous, ecstatic, and scared all at the same time. He sat in his last class, awaiting his math teacher to call him for his grade. His face lit up from his worksheet as he saw the door open, and his teacher walked through. He watched his every step as his math teacher whispered to the other teacher at her desk. He stared at his teacher as she motioned for him to come down. Ni-ki speed-walked over and went into the hall with his teacher.

"Well mixed news," his teacher said, as Ni-ki's facial expression dropped to one of fear. He continued, "You passed, with a 78%, which is a C+. It's passing so I won't bash you over it, but I would've liked something better from you, make sure you study these some more, ok?" "Y-yes sir," Ni-ki said, also feeling mixed emotions. It wasn't long until school was released and he and Jungwon were once again in the van, on the way to the HYBE building to be K-pop idols. The manager broke the car's silence as he made small talk, "How'd the school day go you two?" he said as he kept his eyes on the road.

"It was school, not fun," Ni-ki said as he looked out the window. "We're going to start reading "To Kill a Mocking Bird" soon, but we also have Music Bank coming up as well, so I hope I can retain all I have to read of it," Jungwon said looking out the window. "Wasn't that on the banned book list for a bit?" Ni-ki asked, recalling a conversation he eavesdropped earlier that day. "Yeah, I think one person said for racism, and the other for communist ideals, but I'm not sure about the second one," Jungwon said, thinking back.

Before any of them had realized it, they were already dancing together as one unit, practicing Given-Taken. Ni-ki thought for a moment, trying to recollect all his mistakes of that run. The monotonous routine continued for about another hour, and the members eventually got exhausted. The dance instructor looked at them, "With the progress we have, we're going to keep going, you're all in for an extra hour or two because of the slack you're putting in," the man said coldly. The group began to feel frustration as their dancing began to shift, instead of being precise, it was more tired and the closest to energetic as they could.

After the 3rd run of the song back-to-back, Ni-ki stood still, trying to stay on his feet, his vision felt slightly hazy as he looked around the room. The instructor let out an angry sigh as he looked at Enhypen, "Get water, I can't have you all passing out on me, not with Music Bank coming up," he said with arrogance as the group hurried to their waters. The group didn't have long before they were practicing once more, eventually, the instructor gave up and sent the group home.

Ni-ki began to feel discouraged as this routine began habit, his sleep schedule kept getting worse, school started to pile down on him, and being a freshly debuted idol whose instructor seemed to not give a shit was a burden. He started to fall into a state of constant debate, "Am I good enough? What is it with all of this? Why does our dance instructor not care? Did I finish that assignment?" Were a part of the many thoughts that went through his mind.

Ni-ki sat quietly in the desk chair of his room, the lights were off, and no one else was there, the room was only lit by a small desk lamp, and a small amount of light from the moon. Ni-ki looked at the annoying paper with frustration. "Why is this so hard?! Why doesn't it make any sense!" Ni-ki mumbled to himself, feeling angered. After a moment, Ni-ki got out of his chair and pushed his back against the wall as he slid to the floor. He curled into a ball and buried his head in his knees. "I can't do this... I can't believe I can't do it..." Ni-ki began whispering as he felt his eyes well up. Ni-ki began to cry as he hugged his knees tighter.

He stayed like this for a while, letting out all of his pent-up emotions, the anger, sadness, stress, anxiety, everything. After a while, Ni-ki's tears stopped and he looked at the ground, "I wish I wasn't here... then I wouldn't have to do this stupid stuff..." Ni-ki thought, feeling drained. His gaze quickly flickered to the opening door, to whom he was met by Heeseung. The older's eyes widened as he shut the door behind him and knelt beside Ni-ki, "Hey what's wrong?" Heeseung asked as he put a hand on the younger's shoulder. Ni-ki began to cry a few small tears as he told the older about all he had been feeling, from the test grade, to school in general, and to the instructor, all of it. Heeseung comforted him as he told him everything. "I'm so sorry Ni-ki, I would've tried to help if I knew... Do you feel any better?" Heeseung asked, looking at him. "A lot better, thank you so much Hyung."
