1 month later.

Aemond was standing on one of the balconies that overlooked the gardens, looking as his sister and his uncle walked through it. It had been a moon since he spoke to Rhaenyra, who had barely looked at him since then. He could tell that she was doing better since they spoke, while she was still sad and some days she appeared to be lost in thought, she did not appear to be crippled by the pain. Rhaenyra did not spend her days locked inside her chambers any longer, she had even had supper with Visenya, the other Aemond, and their children. She had also been spending time with the other Rhaenyra, the other version of Daemon, and their two children. She seemed to have a special affinity towards Aemma and enjoyed spending time with the small girl. She had also attended a few of the small council meetings and even gone into the city to visit the orphanages and teaching houses.

He had also seen her reviewing the laws that the queen had put in place. Aemond had also taken a look at them and he had been impressed. The laws covered everything from trade to treason. There were also several laws that had been put in place to help the common folk. Aemond was having a hard time coming to terms with his sister and the new way he was seeing her. He had grown up in fear that she would kill him and his siblings as soon as she took the throne. Then he had given her the perfect chance, he had been fully at her mercy and no one would have been the wiser. Even with all the things in her favor, his sister had refused to kill him.

"You spend a lot of time studying your sister." He almost jumped at the sound of Visenya's voice, he had not heard her approach. He had been attempting to stay away from her. Visenya's belly had grown in the last moon and now everyone could tell she was with child. Seeing her like that made him feel things he was not comfortable with. She gave him an amused smile as she looked towards Rhaenyra and Daemon. "You look at them like they are a puzzle you cannot solve."

"There are new things that I am attempting to understand." He looked back towards his sister and shook his head. "She is a bit different than I was led to believe."

"You mean because she did not kill you when you gave her the chance?" Aemond turned to Visenya and gave her a shocked look. "The gardens are not as private as you might believe."

"I did not know anyone else had witnessed what happened."

"Do not worry it was only me." Aemond's gaze lowered when Visenya ran a hand over her belly and he could feel his body react. "I was a bit surprised that you would allow her to kill you."

"I thought that was the only way for her to understand how sorry I was for what happened."

"And now you are confused because she refused to kill you." Visenya did not phrase it like a question and Aemond was not sure he liked how well she could read him. "I could have told you that she would never kill you."

"How can you be so sure?" Aemond turned to face her fully, a frown on his face.

"I know that my husband told you that your brother in this world passed, but did he ever tell you how my mother reacted to the news?" Aemond shook his head. "She was heartbroken that her brother had passed. She cried for him, even though she had not seen him in years and had not been very close to him. She was sad that his life had been cut so short and that she would never have the chance to get to know him." Aemond would not lie and say he was not surprised that any Rhaenyra in any world, would take any time to mourn Aegon. "My mother would never kill anyone in her family unless it was a last resort. She would not want the title of kinslayer attached to her for the rest of her life."
