1 week later.
Visenya squealed as the lighting flashed across the sky, she was not very fond of storms, especially the lighting part. Another flash of lighting made her throw the covers over her head and hug her pillow. She would have gone to her mother and father, but she did not want them to think she was afraid, even if she was. It was loud and she did not like it, she did not want to be on her own. There was another flash of lighting and very loud thunder and jumped out of bed and ran to the door. She opened the door slowly and looked outside, her guard was standing a few feet away, looking around the hall and checking things. She knew they would change shifts in a few minutes. She made sure the guard was not looking her way as she ran as fast and quietly as she could. She came to a stop and the guard standing at the door chuckled before opening the door for her.
She gave the guard a small smile and hurried past him, waiting until he closed the door. Lighting lit up the sky, making her jump and she ran as fast as she could towards the bed. She was still too short to get on the bed on her own. She pulled on the blanket, but he did not move.
"Kepus." She did not speak too loudly, not wanting to scare him, but he did not move. She frowned and spoke a bit loudly. "Kepus, wake up."
She slapped her hand on the mattress and felt him jump. She saw the way his hair stuck out all over the place as he looked around, frowning, the sapphire replacing his missing eye gleaming as lightning flashed again. It took him a few seconds to notice her and he gave her a questioning look.
"Little dragon?" He sat up on the bed. "What is wrong?"
She lifted up her arms and smiled when he immediately picked her up and sat her on his lap. Lighting flashed again and she whimpered, her eyes slamming shut. She felt his arms wrapped around her and pulled her against his chest, kissing the top of her head.
"I do not like lighting, kepus."
"I know, my love." He hugged her tighter and she turned a bit, wrapping her arms around his neck. She liked being near her kepus, he made her feel safe and loved like she was the most important thing in his world. "You never have to be afraid, of anything. I will always protect you."
"Thank you,"
"Do you want to stay here tonight?"
She nodded quickly, giving him a large smile when he moved her to the side, getting her settled and laying next to her. He wrapped his arms around her and she tucked her head under his chin. Lighting flashed across the sky, but this time it did not bother her, she knew she was safe as long as she was with her uncle. He would never let anything happen to her, he would always tell her she was the light of his life and he loved her more than anything. Visenya was happy any time she was near him, he could always bring a smile to her face, even when she was sad.
Visenya liked staying with her uncle, he sometimes went away, to help her mother. He always brought her lots of presents and sent her letters, but her favorite present was the hugs he gave her when he returned.
