Visenya tries to talk to Jace and make sure that he is not abandoning them. Rhaenyra and Laenor talk. I hope you guys like it 🥰

3 days later

Visenya, Aegon, and Viserys were not sure what they were supposed to do. Laenor Velaryon was back and Joffrey and Jace were not happy about it. Joffrey had been a babe when Laenor had supposedly died, so he did not remember him. But her brother was still hurt at being abandoned by the man who was supposed to be his father. The one who was hurt the most was Jace, her brother refused to speak to Laenor and would walk in the opposite direction if he saw him coming. Her aunt Helaena had spent most of her time with her husband, not wanting to leave him alone.

Visenya knocked on the door and smiled at her aunt and brother when they allowed her to enter. Jace was sitting by the table, a cup sitting in front of him.

"My husband insists I am accompanied by someone if I am to go on a walk." She smiled at her aunt before looking at her brother. "Jace, can you please accompany me?"

"I would prefer to stay here." Her brother did not even look at her.

Her aunt gave her a sad look and Visenya winked at her before moving to the table and forcing her brother to look at her. "You would not force your heavily pregnant sister to go on a walk on her own, and bring about the wrath of her husband, would you?"

"You are a manipulator." Jace rolled his eyes but stood up and followed her out of his chambers, kissing his wife before leaving.

They walked slowly through the halls, nodding at people who walked past them. They made it to the gardens and their pace slowed even more, taking their time to enjoy the weather and the beautiful flowers. There were no words exchanged for a time, she wanted to give him a bit of time before saying anything that would upset him. They had been walking for a bit over ten minutes and she could not keep quiet any longer.

"I know you are upset." Her brother's arm tensed underneath her hand, but she did not stop. "But I want you to know that you can talk to me. I might not be able to understand, but I can at least listen."

"What is there to talk about?" Jace shrugged, but he was still tense and would not look at her. "The man who was supposed to be my father abandoned me and pretended to be dead for many years."

"I am sorry," Visenya felt for her brother. "I cannot imagine how difficult it must be. Are you ever going to speak to him, try to listen to his side?"

"No," Jace was still tense. "There is nothing he could say that would make things better."

"Maybe not, but he might be able to answer some of your questions." Visenya had heard her mother, Princess Rhaenys and Jace talk about Laenor before. She had also heard her father talk about him, which was how she knew Laenor preferred men and Lord Corlys had never accepted that fact about his son. Laenor and her mother had married forced by both their parents and her mother had to use another man to have children, since Laenor had not been capable of giving her heirs. "He might be able to tell you something that will make you understand what happened or see things a bit differently."

"Understand what?" Jace let go of her arm and took a couple of steps away from her. "My real father left after getting into a fight with a knight from the kingsguard, he was sent away to keep the rumors of our parentage at bay. A few days later he was dead, and then came the news of Laena's death. We go to Driftmark, not allowed to grieve the man who helped give us life. A few days after the funeral Laenor is dead and not even four moons later our mother is married to Daemon. Every person I have ever loved has abandoned me one way or another."
