This story starts about 2 weeks after Dragon's Heir ended. I hope you guys like it. 🥰
She had never felt so much pain. She had believed that the death of her father and the loss of her youngest daughter had prepared her for the loss of what a war would bring, but she could not have been more wrong. When Daemon told her about Lucerys's death, it felt like her entire body had been submerged in ice, like there were thousands of knives stabbing her. Her son had been on a peace mission and he had been killed for it. She should have never sent him, she should have known it was not safe. She had not been able to think clearly since she discovered Lucerys's death, all she wanted was to burn everything in her path. She did not know what she was supposed to do with her pain.
She was standing on the beach, looking out at the water when a strange mist surrounded her. She did not even notice it at first, it took her a few minutes before she even realized this was not normal and by that time she did, she was completely enveloped by the fog. She did not have time to fight or even scream and then she was somewhere she did not recognize.
"Rhaenyra?" She turned and frowned when she saw Daemon standing there with the same confused look as her. "Where are we?"
"I do not know." Her husband shook his head.
Rhaenyra looked around and her eyes narrowed when she saw Aemond. Her brother was looking around also and he looked as confused as she and Daemon felt. Fury took over her entire body.
"YOU!" Rhaenyra launched herself at Aemond but was held back by her husband. She wanted Aemond dead. "MURDERED! KINSLAYER!"
"I did not bring you three here to attack each other." A man appeared from the mist. He was very tall, taller than was possible for a man to be. Part of his arms and chest were covered in what appeared to be armor, Rhaenyra could tell it was Valyrian steel. He had long white hair, adorned in braids and two white horns on top of his head. Lightning seemed to snap out of his hair. The man stood before them and gave them an amused look. "I am Arrax, Ruler of Gods, law, order, justice, governance, and strength. I am one of the Fourteen Flames." Daemon, Aemond, and Rhaenyra immediately fell to their knees. She felt confused, not sure what they were doing here or what a god wanted from them. "On your feet."
All three of them stood but were not sure what they were supposed to do.
"I am sorry Rhaenyra." Her head snapped up and she looked at the god, his expression was kind. "Losing a son is something no mother should ever have to suffer."
"Thank you," She had to clear her throat.
"You have all made grievous mistakes." Rhaenyra's hands tightened on her gown. "This war will be the cause of all your deaths and the death of dragons. The entire realm will be torn apart and the Targaryen dynasty will be destroyed."
"We were not the ones who started this war," Daemon said while glaring at Aemond. "Your cunt of a brother stole the throne from the rightful heir."
"Aegon is the rightful heir." Aemond snapped.
"He is not." All three of them looked at Arrax. "Aegon will never be a good king and he will not reign for very long. Even when he will win this war with the way things are going, he will be poisoned by his own council for being such a worthless king." Arrax looked at them and his expression was sad. "You have all hurt each other and the hate filling your hearts will be your doom. The gods cannot allow this."
Rhaenyra's body tensed, she was not sure what that meant, but it could not be good. She did not want to die and leave her infant children alone. She also did not want to die next to her brother, the man who had murdered her son.
