They were apart

Chapter 21: Erebus

It was one week from prom and i stood in a flower shop, bees outside in the back and flowers everywhere. I stood in the middle of the shop, my fists clenched and my eyes focused on a heart shaped bouquet with purple tulips.
"Need any help sir?" A tall older woman asked.
"Yeah no i'm.. i'm good but thank you.."
"Nervous?" She said with a sweet smile.
I laughed and loosened my fists, "A little bit.."
"Who's the lucky girl?" she joked.
I looked at my feel nervously "His name is Apollo.."
She looked at me nervously.
"Apollo?" She said with a weakened smile.
"Yeah why?" i looked over at her.
She cleared her throat, "Bright boy, light blonde hair and blue eyes?"
"Yes.. why..?"
She smiled a bit, "He comes here often.."
I could tell she was lying when she walked away but i shrugged it off and bought the bouquet and it was about 45 dollars
I noticed Apollo walking to the door and i ran behind a shelf, watching him.
"Mama!" He said with a smile.
His mom? I watched as he ran up to the shop owner and i ran out quickly, placing the flowers in my tote bag, heading to the market.
I want to buy him some candies because he doesn't like chocolates.
I came home after getting what i needed and i got to his house on my way home, i needed to see if there was any signs of him behind home and i see his mom's car.. i remember seeing it at the flower shop.
I went up to the door and i knocked on it, tapping my foot.
Apollo answered the door and his mouth opened slightly.
"Apollo-"
"Erebus i- i'm sorry.."
"What do you mean?"
"I can't go out with you.."

"Erebus you alright?"
The image of him rejecting me left my mind.
"Yeah sorry.." i looked at the flowers and back at him.
"Will you go to prom with me?" i stifled, my hand shaking.
He gasped and ignored the flowers, hugging me tightly.
I embraced him and kneeled down, placing the gifts aside and lifting him up a bit.
"Of course i will, Erebus!!" He said with the biggest smile i've ever seen.
I smiled a bit and placed him down slowly.
He laughed and ran inside, coming back with a smaller bouquet of sunflowers.
"I wanted to ask you too!!"
I started to cry and i hugged him.
I've never cried like this before.. I've never had happy tears like this.
I looked at him and kissed his lips, the tingle was amazing and my heart was fast.
I pulled away and grabbed his face in both of my hands.
"I love you, Apollo."
He smiled and hugged me. "I love you too.."
