Chapter 12

Before Bucky could be her shadow, the Avengers where called away on a mission.

Thor was set to return from Asgard to shadow Mia, while the Avengers where gone.

And that leaves us where we are currently, the Avengers in the elevator to return home.

"Lady Mia has cancer!" Came Thor's booming voice.

Tony's eyes widen as he ran into the common room. "What!"

The site that the avengers saw was Mia and Thor sitting next to each other, in a circle, with other people, that Tony guesses was Mia's classmates.

"Mia, you have cancer?" Tony asked seriously.

Mia held up a card. "It's actually Leukemia."

"Dang! I was close!" Thor said as he looked down.

Bucky let out a breath. 'It's just a study group.'

"Thor. What the hell are you doing?" Tony was seething.

"Lady Mia has offered to teach me the ways of mortal medicine!" Thor said happily.

"What?" Tony looked to his daughter.

"I actually agreed to teach him first aid." Mia clarified.

Natasha smiles. "So how did this happen?"

"Thor just kinda jumped into our study group." Mia smiles.

"Who cares. He's so handsome." A female classmate said as she gazed as Thor, who offered her a smile in return.

"Amelia. Can I speak to you in private for a moment?" Tony asks with a wave of his fingers.

Mia looked at his serious face and nods as she shuts her book and follows her father to another room.

"Yeah dad. What's up?"

Tony didn't say anything and he pulled Mia into a hug. "Nothing. Just had a heart attack."

Mia giggled. "I'm fine dad. Just a study group."

"Thank god for that." Tony said as he kissed her forehead.

Mia looked at the ground. "Actually. Speaking of that, is there anything in our family I should be aware of?"

"Like diseases?" Tony asked to clarify.

Mia nods, but Tony notices that she won't meet his eyes.

"Not that I know of entirely. I'm not sure of your mothers either." Tony said suspiciously.

Mia nods and looks him in the eye, but the smile doesn't reach her eyes, Tony notices.

"What's wrong Mia?" Tony asks.

"Nothing. I'm just learning about genetics and diseases so I figured I'd ask in case I want to have kids one day." Mia shrugged.

Tony places his hands on his hips. "Do you want to be a mom?"

Mia nods and sniffles. "Yeah. One day. I think."

"You think?" Tony teases.

Mia shrugs again. "It's hard to decide! I don't know what it's like to have a baby!"

"Well if it's anything like how you are with Morgan, you'll be the best mom." Tony smiles.

"Really?"

"Of course. Not too soon though Amelia. Focus on school, set yourself up for a successful life. Then discuss this with someone you really love. Don't go making me a grandpa early." Tony taunts.

Mia rolls her eyes. "There's literally no options right now."

"What about Bucky?" Tony wiggles his brows.

Mia looked taken aback. "What about him?"

"Thought you liked him. Don't look so scared Amelia."

Mia laughs awkwardly. 'At least he doesn't know.'

"Come on. Let's get back out there." Tony says as he slings his arm around Mia's shoulder and guides her back into the common room.
