Chapter 14

It had been a day and a half.

Dr. Banner had a specific medicine that he wanted to try on Mia, which seemed to be working.

Tony never left her side.

Finally Mia's eyes start to blink open.

"She's awake." Pepper said, catching the attention of Bruce, Tony, Steve and Bucky.

Mia groaned.

"Amelia." Tony sighed.

"Daddy." She croaked out.

"How you feeling?" Tony asks as he rubs his fingers over her hand.

"Exhausted." Mia admitted.

"You've been out for about 2 days now." Bucky says.

Mia looks up to met his eyes, but he won't met hers.

"Amelia. Your mother was blowing my phone up about how you missed taking something. She tracks you on some app." Tony says.

'This was it. This was when Bucky would find out if Mia was pregnant. If she was, it'd be his. This he had no doubt.' Steve thought as he looks at Bucky.

"Yeah. Sorry about that." Mia said lightly.

"I'm guessing you know what happened?" Bruce said as he crossed his arms.

Mia nods.

"Wait. What happened?" Tony asked confused.

"She has an autoimmune deficiency. You take vitamins for it right?" Bruce explains.

Mia nods. "Yeah."

"Your mother tracks them I take it. Thad what she meant when she said you missed taking them. She knew this would happen." Bruce said.

"Yeah. I haven't taken any since the day after the party. I just forgot." Mia explained.

"Amelia. How exactly do you forget to take vitamins that help keep you alive?" Tony was furious.

"I've had a lot on my mind. It just slipped." Mia admitted.

Tony sighs. "Maybe you should drop some classes. Too much on your plate, if your forgetting your vitamins."

Mia furrowed her brows. "I need these classes dad."

Tony nods. "And you can just tack on a couple extra years of college. Don't worry I'll pay for them."

Mia was starting to get angry. "I wasn't worried. I don't need you paying for anything dad. I'm fine. It wasn't my classes that had me distracted!"

Tony's eyes widen. "What?"

"I feel like we shouldn't be here." Bruce said.

Pepper held her hand up. "It's better this way."

"There's just a guy." Mia blushed.

Tony holds his hand up, stopping Mia. "Never mind. Say no more. I don't wanna hear about you and the Manchurian Candidate."

Mia and Bucky's eyes widen. "What?"

"Come on. I run the security in this building. You really think I didn't know that you two spent the night together on the day of the party?"

Mia felt like she was gonna pass out again.

Bucky inched closer to the door, waiting for the perfect moment to escape.

"Please. He was here because he thought you were pregnant." Tony revealed.

Mia looked at Bucky. "Really?"

Bucky looks down and nods.

"So you don't actually care about me?" Mia asks quietly.

Bucky sighs.

Mia could feel her tears. "Please leave."

"Mia." Bucky said as he looks at her.

"No. Seriously. Leave. You don't care about me, so why are you even here! Get out!" Mia yelled.

Bruce checked her monitors. "Uh. Guys. She shouldn't be getting this upset right now."

Steve stands up and leads Bucky out the room.

Once the door closes, Mia leans back and lets the tears fall freely.

She allows herself to be comforted by her father and step mother.
