Chapter 21

Mia sighed, as she stretched starting to wake up.

She absolutely adored waking up in Bucky's arms.

"Good morning doll." Bucky said as he kissed her cheek.

"Mhm. Morning handsome. We should get ready for the day. And breakfast."

Bucky laughed. "Anything my Queen wants."

Mia blushed at the nickname, but the couple got ready nonetheless.

~ BREAKFAST ~

"Hey you two." Her mom smiled when she saw them come down the stairs, wiggling her brows.

Michael has been sitting in the same chair as last night, he frowned when he seen them. "Please excuse me."

And with that he left.

"What's his problem?" Mia asked.

"He's used to being the only one here. Probably a jealousy thing. He is a foster kid Amelia." John said as he read his newspaper.

Mia furrowed her brows at her step fathers tone, but decided to ignore it either way.

They went into the kitchen and made breakfast, vegan for Mia and regular for Bucky.

Bucky had coffee to drink and Mia had orange juice as the ate their breakfasts in a comfortable silence.

Until the news came on.

It had managed to catch everyone's attention.

LOCAL TEEN GIRL MURDERED

"Miss Gray was found early this morning at around 4:30am. She was in the alley with her throat slit, shirt still intact, however her pants and underwear had been pulled down to her ankles, signifying sexual assault. Police are unsure if that is the motivation for this crime, or if it's connected to the local break ins we've had lately, the perpetrator could be escalating. Miss Gray was a student at West View High School and a regular local at the Nine In Diner. Police are urging that anyone who has any information contact them right away."

Mia was shocked, she couldn't believe there was a murder in the small, and quiet town they'd lived in since her mother and John had married.

She looked around and saw Bucky was fixated on the TV, he'd probably be assisting the local police in this investigation as an avenger.

John had lowered his newspaper in favor for the special news report on the TV.

Her mother was behind the couch, shock evident on her face as she held a hand to her mouth.

And finally Mia looked to the top of the stairs, where she saw Michael sitting, with what she could only describe as an evil smirk on his face, adding to the sinking feeling she had in her stomach.
