Mia was currently sitting at the dining room table, working on her laptop, as her mother sat next to her, talking. While John was in the living room watching a football game.
She had no idea where Michael was.
Bucky walked into the house. He walked straight up to Mia and kisses her cheek.
"Any news?" Mia asks.
Bucky sighs. "They're gonna keep me on as a consultant. If it gets too out of hand, calling the avengers in. It looks like a regular killer though. There's some signs of a serial killer in the making."
"Oh I know. It's just terrible isn't it? Victoria and Michael were friends!" Her mother exclaimed.
Mia and Bucky both looked at her mother.
"What?" Mia asked.
"Michael attends West View High School. He has since we started fostering him. He's had a hard time because of his past. Victoria accepted him right away. Been over a few times. It's such a shame what happened to her. Probably why Michael has been isolating himself." Her mother explained.
Mia blinked. 'Michael knew the victim?'
"You do know, that you three will have to go in to speak to the police about this right?" Bucky said.
"Why? We aren't suspects right?" Her mother said.
The shiver is what caught Bucky's eye and made him raise a brow. "No. But it's to eliminate people of interest and gather information."
"O-Okay. I'll tell John and Michael." Her mother stuttered and left.
Mia raised a brow at her mothers stutter. "What was that about?"
"I think I just added your mother to my list of people to keep an eye on." Bucky said.
"Who else is on that list?" Mia asked.
"So far. Her and Michael. They're the only ones that have shown nervous ticks or signs since the murder this morning."
Mia shook her head. "My mother never stutters. But she wouldn't kill anyone."
Bucky held up a hand. "I have a theory. But we need to get a look inside Michael's room."
Mia shrugged. "I think he has a study group tomorrow at the library. It's to make up for what he missed as a foster student so he can hopefully graduate on time."
Bucky nods. "Tomorrow it is then."
