It was the first week of June and the birds were chirping, the sun was shining bright and the palm trees were gorgeous. It's been said that South Beach Miami was the place to be during the Summertime for not only its sandy beaches and tropical essence, but the liveliness and overall flavor of the sunny hot weathered city. Which is what brought Asha, known to her family as Shai here in the first place. You see Asha had just turned the big twenty-one. A milestone in a young woman's life, or any young adult for that matter. Twenty-one was the age most teenagers looked forward to while others dreaded it. At twenty-one you can finally legally drink at bars, clubs and restaurants as well as buy your own liquor at the liquor store. At twenty-one you can get a licensed concealed weapon, adopt a child, gamble at casinos, you can legally rent a car. The endless list of possibilities goes on and on being twenty-one, but for Asha all she really wanted was a change of scenery and an introduction to the real world. Unlike most young women her age. Asha was inexperienced in almost every aspect of her life. She has always been sheltered and shielded. A close eye was always kept on her and what she did out of protection. Even though the world can be an evil place, Asha always felt there was more to life than being cooped up in her family suburban home back in New Jersey.
