Night Twelve

"That shouldn't be so hard. Aren't they still hung up on that Adam and Eve plan of theirs?" Kanato got his candy. Yes, the girl had always some candy in her pocket but never raspberry candy. He suspected his brother informed the girl. With the candy in his pocket, he had to find the nuisance and tried the balcony first. The next room could be the game room or the kitchen. He made up his mind. Why on earth would he had look for someone. "Does anyone know where the blonde is? She stole my candy and put it in Chisana's room." 

Ayato showed up. "I saw her last in the game room." 

Laito came in next. "Balcony, she got herself some hot chocolate milk in the kitchen first." 

"Again that she tries to set Chiwa up? This is getting ridiculous." Ayato moved his head from left to right. 

Nodding, Laito agreed. "Why can't she try to get along with Chisa-chan? That would make it a lot better for her too." What could that girl be planning? Could it be that she wanted Chisana gone or dead. He wanted answers and fast. 

Without a word of thanks, Kanato disappeared to the balcony and found the girl. "How dare you put my candy in Chisana's nightstand?" He showed no remorse, hitting her mug out of her hand. 

"Kanato-kun." Yui felt the hot liquid on her hand by his sudden appearance. 

The always present suffix turned out to be more annoying than usual, and Kanato disliked it but didn't address it. Instead he showed one of his candies. "Does this look familiar to you?" 

She recognized the wrapping and knew it had to be Kanato's candy. Then it hit her, and avoided his eyes. "She must have wanted some candy..." 

"And now you're lying. You're coming with me." He grabbed her by her wrist and teleported straight to Reiji's room. Where he saw Chisana with a cup of tea and understood the girl hadn't been awake for long. 

Reiji sipped his tea while seeing his brother with the blonde. "Keep it short." 

Kanato pushed Yui on her knees with his hand on her shoulder. "Chisana, I have one question. Does the candy look familiar to you?" 

Chisana put her teacup down and picked it up. Seeing it closer, she recognized the wrapping. "This is your candy, Kanato." She gave it back. "Some nights ago I was in the pantry. Reiji came in to make the list for the groceries and told me that the raspberry candy was yours alone. I haven't touched it since. If I may, why are you asking me this?" 

"This one mentioned that you took some candy and put it in your bedside table drawer." Kanato expected Chisana's answer and looked down at Yui. "When would that be exactly? When she was in the city with Shu, or when she was asleep here in Reiji's room?" 

"Lying again?" Reiji's patience ran out and closed his eyes. 

Yui looked at her for hearing the girl slept in Reiji's room. "What? I don't lie?" She turned her head from Kanato to Reiji. What happened and why could Chisana sleep in his room? How she got the respect from Reiji, baffled her. 

"Why do you keep doing this?" Reiji shook his head to Chisana. "You put the candy in her room while she was asleep here. If I catch you in her room again, I will use the whip on you." 

Putting Kanato's favorite candy in my room? "Yui, have I done something to offend you? What have I done that you treat me this way?' Chisana finished her tea while waiting for a response. 

Yui stayed quiet. She never got Reiji or Kanato's respect or trust, but Chisana did. She wanted to know how to get their respect and trust. One thing for sure, Chisana had to leave first in order to obtain it.
