Amidst the shadows and the secrets

Night Thirteen

Not getting any answers, Reiji turned to Kanato. "She's not talking. Kanato?" 

"If I have to tell him, your punishment will increase." Kanato laughed. "Have fun taking care of those cuts and other future scars." He hugged Teddy tighter. "I caught her putting my candy between the candy Chisana likes." 

Yui squeezed her eyes as her body moved to stand up without her consent. Something she had felt before and had no control over her body. She hoped it wouldn't last long. 

Satisfied to have her under his control, Reiji moved his glasses back up his nose. "Here you go again to create work for me. To think that you would deliberately set Chisana up and for what reason? Your creativity knows no limits when it comes to getting rid of her. If only you would use your head and focus on your homework, and you wouldn't have such low grades. Do you want me to tutor you so badly?" 

No, she made sure not to have any bad grades. However, she couldn't shake her head if she wanted to. She coudn't move or clean up the glass. "If I make a mess I have to clean up..." 

"I'll clean it because you have cuts on your hands. Perhaps you do it on purpose so we will bite you." Reiji looked at Kanato from the corner of his eyes. 

"I'm not thirsty, and I would go to Chisana. She doesn't make any stupid mistakes." Knowing the girl a little, Kanato would have to tell her what happened, and Chisana would offer her blood to him.

Laito smelled blood in the air. "Stay here, Chisa-chan. It's okay to play the piano, I'll be right back." He followed his nose and ended up in the pantry. "So it's your blood I smell." He saw the mess. "What happened?" 

"She was mixing Kanato's candy with her candy." Reiji wasted no time to clean it all up. "Kanato caught her, and she dropped her glass but used it to cut herself in the hope we would bite her." 

Laito chuckled. "See, and this is why you are being punished all the time. If you do it to get some attention this is one way to do it, sure, but you should know that it can be positive or negative. You will only end up downstairs for a night or two." The blood got to him, and he felt his throat act up. Having Chisana play the piano, he wanted to get back upstairs. "I can let Ayato-kun know and tell him to ignore her. That would be a fitting punishment for an attention-seeker." 

"No, I will lock her up after whipping that poor-mannered girl. She needs a lesson in how to behave like a lady." Reiji could still hear Chisana play, which calmed him and took the girl downstairs. "Think of what you are doing to Chisana when she hasn't done anything to you. I will let you out tomorrow so you can get ready for school." Back upstairs, he saw Laito with Chisana. 

"I'm a little thirsty, Chisa-chan." Laito put her juice bottle on the piano. "That nuisance cut herself on purpose to get our attention after mixing Kanato-kun's candy with your candy." 

Will she ever stop? Chisana stood up. "Where is she now?" 

"Locked up in the dungeon. Kanato-kun caught her in the act and that is her punishment." He pulled her closer and tilted her head to gain access to her neck. "I won't drink too much." 

"Thank you." Chisana smiled, seeing her juice bottle. I need to stop worrying about her. She's the one to seek their attention by trying to incriminate me. Maybe I should stop trying to get to know her. She brought this upon herself. 

Kanato pouted to see Chisana in his brother's arms and disappeared. He knew he could bite her the next night.
