Chapter 52

I'm fine, and so is my baby. Except with the gunshot on my thighs that is still extremely painful.

He gave me medicines and additional vitamins for my pregnancy after all the stress that I have gone through, and more importantly, he advised me to stay away from stress.

I might still need to stay in the hospital for another three days for the gunshot that I had pero pwede rin naman na akong mag bedrest na lang sa bahay. 

"Okay, that's all Mrs. Esquivel. I'll come back again in the morning."

I smiled and nodded my head at kaagad na napatingin kay El na kanina pa tahimik sa sulok. The doctor came right after he entered my room and we didn't have a chance to talk all alone. 

"Iha, iinit ko na lang tong sopas nang makakain ka na." Lola Soledad went to the kitchen which has a separate room kaya muli ay napag isa kami ni El. 

He seemed still mad and I understand if he won't talk to me right away. Nagsinungaling ako sa kanya at pinahamak ko ang sarili ko at ang anak namin.

I am hard headed. 

I bowed down my head while he stayed on the corner, not even looking at me while looking so serious. And I'm sure that he is tired too with all what happened these last few days, with what happened to me and now the case against my father.

He cleared his throat but I remained bowing my head as I fidgeted my fingers beneath my blanket.

Kaya nagulat na lamang ako ng hawakan niya ang kamay ko. I stopped fidgeting it and looked up to him as he sat on the side of my bed, still looking so serious and quite mad.

Napalunok ako ng malalim sa kabang nararamdaman. 

"You're gonna stay with me, to a new home. A permanent one." My heart constricted when he sounded emotionless.

Unti-unti akong tumango. I felt like defying his orders means no good to me. 

Then I felt his fingers, slowly caressing my fingers.

"Stay out of the case from now on." He added more.

Mulu akong tumango habang patuloy na nakatingin sa mga daliri niyang humahaplos sa akin ng marahan. And I just don't like the way his emotionless eyes looked at me too.

He's cold and I don't like it. Pero kasalanan ko rin naman.

"You're gonna marry me after the case, and I'll make sure that it will be done sooner than expected. So better get ready." Mariin nitong utos.

Doon na umangat ang tingin ko sa kanya. Aren't we rushing the wedding a little bit?

I licked my lips, trying to voice out my opinion but words didn't come out. He's looking at me like I do not have the right to say no, kaya wala na akong nagawa kung hindi ang tumango sa huli.

"Okay, good. Rest for now and I'm gonna visit again tomorrow."

"Huh?" Hindi ko na napigilan na madismaya sa inakto niya.

He's going away and didn't plan to stay with me tonight.

He stood up and looked down on me. 

"My meeting isn't finished yet. You are guarded outside and I made the security tight. You should be more than safe."

Natikom ko ang bibig ko. He's giving me cold treatment and I honestly do not know how to feel.

But I was caught by surprise again when he put his one palm on my side, levelling our eyes and giving me a sweet kiss right away. I was taken aback, my eyes remained wide open as he kissed me sweetly on the lips.
