Eleanor

Inez and Beth looked at me with smiles on their faces, proud of their work. That is, me with make up, hair done, and dressed in a beautiful long royal blue gown.

"Our beautiful lady, our princezz" Beth muttered, her hands on her chest, almost with tears brewing in her eyes.

"You are very beautiful, my lady." Inez added.

I looked at the mirror and was surprised to see the woman looking back at me.

Is this really me? I never thought a simple make up and a dress would change me so much.

I never wore these kinds of things even in my world because when there were parties and events, I would just stay in my room, locked up and instead study the whole night or watch Netflix and chill.

I turned around once again to watch the beautiful long gown sway as I moved. They also added a special cape, made of very light material and soft to the touch which ended just around my waist in order to cover my back.

"Thank you Inez and Beth." I muttered as I hugged the both of them.

We exchanged our goodbyes as they sent us off excitedly. In the carriage was Sir Galahan and Clyde, both of them sitting across me.

Why the hell am I getting nervous?

As if on cue, Clyde spoke.

"Make sure not to forget who you'll be for tonight, Princess."

"Yes." I answered too quickly.

"I am Elen, your far-distant cousin from Bane." I said with anxiousness, repeating the words to myself so as not to forget. Oh Lord, I'm not good at this. I'm not good at lying! Ugh!

"Don't worry Princess, you'll be fine. Sir Galahan will be there to watch you." Clyde reassured me.

I just gave him a nervous smile in reply. I focused my attention to the window and recalled all the minute details of my training in the past two weeks since that first healing incident.

In a span of those two weeks, I was able to learn healing small wounds at will.. then, I was also able to swing a sword without hurting myself, thank God.

I can say that aside from studying thick medical books and learning how to suture, I guess I am also capable of other things. I'm so proud of you, Eleanor.

Lost in thought, I haven't noticed we've already arrived.. in the middle of..

Nowhere.

"What place is this?" I asked as I went out the carriage together with Clyde and Sir Galahan.

"There's nothing here." I said while struggling with my heels. I looked around only to find a bunch of trees and grass. No signs of houses or buildings around.

Are we lost? Or something? I thought.

Without answering my question, Clyde got the invitations from his side coat pocket and moved towards a small worn-out mailbox standing alone in the grass, which I just noticed. Was it there the whole time?
