Eleanor

"That was my real mother?" I asked while trying to hold back tears, after reminiscing down memory lane in 3D.

Master Edsley took a deep breath and nodded.

He was the elderly mage that Clyde brought with him in his office.

This was what he probably meant last night that the explanation thing of why I'm here had a designated time and place.

He wanted to leave me alone with a strange old man to hold my hand and see his tear-jerking memories as explanation and even confuse me more.

Greaat.

The memories I saw as to why I'm here didn't really answer all my questions. Most of all, how did they find me? How did they know I'm the princess?

What if they got the wrong person and had a mix-up? What would happen then?

"What seems to trouble you, my dear?"
Master Edsley questioned, sensing my dilemma even though he was actually blind.

"With all due respect, Master Edsley, are you sure I'm the right one? I mean it could be anyone." I paused.

"There're thousands of Eleanors on Earth that could be the princess.. how can you be sure that it's me?"

This is me politely asking and telling you that I might not be that baby and you should probably return me! Because I am DEFINITELY not princess material!

Master Edsley did not answer right away and just smiled softly. As for a 97-year-old man, he looked feeble physically but I can sense his strong and prudent mind.

"The dragon's curse." He said after a long pause.

I was about to pick up the cup of tea on the table, but stopped midway when I heard his words.

"The dragon's-"

There was a sudden knock on the door and the doorknob turned without waiting for a reply.

Ugh! How can someone be just in time to ruin the moment when I might just have the answers to my questio-- oh! A dog!

I was slightly agitated when Clyde entered and interrupted us, but with him was a white furry dog that looked like an Akita and a Husky because of its blue eyes.

"Wow! A dog!" I happily exclaimed, not hiding my excitement and enthusiasm when it comes to dogs, since we also have a cute furry dog back home.

"You didn't tell me you had a dog in this house, Clyde.."

Clyde looked like he was trying to interrupt me but couldn't because I was blabbering happily.

I immediately approached the dog and patted it on the head. The dog seemed to be very stiff and well-behaved. It wiggled its tail once.

As if it was a trained dog, no, more like a guard dog.

I was surprised when Master Edsley gave out yet another generous laugh.

And when I turned to look at Clyde, he was also trying his best to stifle a smile.

As if sensing my confusion, Clyde cleared his throat and said,

"I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, Princess, but this is.."

He paused.

"Sir Galahan, the kingdom's most honorable knight, who is apparently.. a weredog."

He paused again as if giving me time to process what he just said.

My hand froze in mid air while patting.... Sir Galahan.
