Eleanor
I looked out the window as we were riding the carriage towards Ammos. From bushes and trees, now the scenery changed into mostly sand and desert.
I straightened the purple dress I was wearing, and arranged the see-through scarf over my head.
Sensing my uneasiness, Clyde spoke.
"Are you nervous in meeting with the Higher Council again?"
"It's not that.. it's just I.. yeah, I'm quite nervous." I admitted.
"But not as nervous as before. I think I'll get a hang of it." I added, trying to cheer myself up.
Clyde just nodded slowly in reply. Beside him, was Sir Galahan who was expressionless, as always.
Apparently, we are on our way to Ammos because Master Edsley and the others decided it would be much safer for me there.
That last encounter with the Soccorians in the Asclepian Training Center was beyond my imagination. Now that they know I'm here, it would be too dangerous for me staying in the open. I was just really lucky that time.
I sighed inwardly. I need to step up my game. I need to really train harder, especially in combat.
It's funny to think how I'm studying and training so hard months ago to become a physician.. Now, I'm training hard.. This time, for survival.
As I was in awe of the golden sand and dust around us,
suddenly, out of nowhere, the duke's image just popped up in my head.Woah. What was that? Am I actually thinking about him right now?!
It's true that we've been frequently seeing each other as of course, I am lodging in his house. It's already been three days since I stayed there, and with me are Inez and Beth who works really hard to take care of me and make me comfortable. Not to mention the additional maids that the duke lent out for me for my convenience..
The duke has also been very kind and hospitable. He always ask me how my stay was, or if I've eaten. But so far, that's it. We never really had proper conversation, coz he too might be quite busy.. which makes me a little bit sad.
Wait.. why? It's not like I wanted his attention or something.
Pfft. You're being hilarious, Eleanor.
The carriage then came to a halt.
"We're here." Clyde declared, turning his head towards the window, looking at the massive shadow that loomed over us.
A tall wooden gate stood before our carriage.
In front of us, were numerous people talking to one another and carrying different kinds of things from blocks of wood to antique ornaments, probably for trade or business. Behind us, were carriages full of crates of fruits, vegetables, and even live animals. There were also a few sophisticated-looking carriages like ours lining up to enter the kingdom of Ammos.
When it was finally our turn to enter, our coachman showed a small wooden tablet at the guards, which gave us permission to enter.
The heavy wooden gate opened slowly and bright light shone which revealed a majestic scenery right before me.
"Welcome to Ammos, princess." Clyde stated happily.

Fantasi"Well, I guess it can't be helped," Duke Damian turned to face me. His ocean blue eyes boring into mine. "Though I wanted to talk to you more.." He said, with longing in his eyes and voice, and a hint of curiosity, which surprised me. I thought I se...
