Eleanor

The moment I heard that the Duke is here, it made my heart skip a beat. Was this because I was nervous? or excited? Oh whatever.

When Clyde and I entered the drawing room, he was leaning against the wall beside the window, and I couldn't help myself staring at his masculine arms and long torso. Oh get a hold of yourself, Eleanor!

"Greetings Clyde." He proclaimed as soon as he saw us.

"And Elen," He walked slowly towards us. His eyes boring into mine.

"Or should I say, Princess.. Eleanor?"

My eyes widened, but I still kept my composure. Clyde knew this would happen, but this soon? Shit.

I looked at Clyde to ask for help.

What should we do? I mentally asked him.

After a few seconds of battling with himself, he finally let go, and nodded at me.

Okay, so, it's time for the big reveal. At least, that's a relief. I no longer have to hide my identity.

I opened my mouth to start explaining, but stopped when I saw the Duke on his one knee, already bowing.

I was confused. I thought he came here to pick a fight.

"I apologize for not greeting you properly, Princess." He said, as he looked up.

"As well as I, princess. It is truly an honor to finally meet you." His blonde-haired assistant came to me and bowed as well. Is he crying?

"I.. well.." I started, but stopped coz I didn't know what to say.

"How can you be so sure that she's the lost princess?" Clyde interrupted.

The duke didn't answer, but he took something from his pocket and showed us a gold bracelet.

"My bracelet!" I rushed to him to get it. My excitement got over me, that I didn't realize I was too close to the duke. He then handed the bracelet to me while his fingers brushed over mine, and I felt like the room suddenly felt hot.

I looked up to him, and uttered a 'thank you'.

I showed Clyde the bracelet that my adoptive parents gave me and apologized.

"What are you sorry for, Princess? It's not your fault."

"It is, if only I haven't lost this." I answered, feeling down because of my stupidity.

"It's actually.. not the bracelet, that helped us conclude who you truly are, princess." The duke said.

"We had our own investigations, and also," He paused.

"the princess doesn't know how to lie." He said in a sweet way as he looked at me with a warm gaze, and a small smile.

For a second, I thought I was melting. I felt the heat in my cheeks. I must be tomato red right now.

Clyde suddenly cleared his throat.

"Okaay.. so, now that you've discovered her identity, what is your agenda here, duke?"
