"Open the gates!"

The sentry yelled out at the top of his lungs, as the heavy metal gates of the castle opened slowly. The soldiers scurried back in defeat from their battle with the Andalusians.

Many were wounded, especially the dragon, or shall I say, the Prince?

I was about to go down from the tower to take a look at the prince--now a black dragon, when my father stopped me.

"I'll take care of it. You have a war to plan." His voice was hoarse but unwavering. He looked at me with disappointment.. as usual.

I clenched my jaw.

"Yes, father."

I went down the long winding steps to meet with General Yang.

When I saw him, his left shoulder was already bandaged, but his eyes were angry as the dragon's.

As soon as he saw me, he made a quick bow.

I nodded at him for him to start his report about the ambush, that my father planned.

"A white dragon appeared." He gritted his teeth, furious, with the unfortunate events that unfolded.

My eyes widened in disbelief.

"Impossible!" I said, while trying to remember facts about the Andalusian dragons.

"Dragons are long gone." I stated, looking at General Yang for he might have made a mistake.

"It was definitely a white dragon.. and,"

"A Sophrona is certainly riding it." He declared with conviction.

Heavy footsteps were suddenly heard, approaching. My father emerged, furious.

"Your grandfather would not believe me." He began.

"I told him many times before.. that lost baby from ages ago, will be the ruin of us!" He exclaimed.

Without waiting for my reply, he ordered General Yang and his troops to capture the last remaining Sophrona.

"But father!" I interrupted.

"It's too risky.. They now have a dragon.. and the solstice is near. Let's just stick to our plan." I explained, panic evident in my voice.

He moved closer to me. We were eye to eye, then he spoke.

"If it weren't for your weak training of your soldiers and the dragon, this wouldn't have happened." He replied in a cold tone.

He turned his back to walk away but I stopped him in his tracks.

"Fine, I'll go." I announced without hesitation.

"I'll capture the remaining Sophrona."

He paused for a while before answering, probably contemplating on my sudden decision.

"Very well." He finally muttered, without looking back.

"I believe.." A female voice spoke.
