Chapter 30 - That time again

Rosetta's POV

"Merry Christmas" i give my husband a quick kiss before sweeping up my baby boy to kiss him too.
"Merry Christmas my three favourite people" James kisses Harry and places a hand over my stomach.

"Should we go and get your presents Harry?" He let's put the cutest giggle I've ever heard

I sit on the sofa as James helps Harry open his presents, me and James had got him cute stag and doe teddies (courtesy of James) a few stories and a lot of new clothes. He also got a few floatable bath toys from Kayla and Reg, some shoes from Rosalie and Rory and a wooden train toy from Petunia.

James had gifted me a beautiful frame with butterflies around the edge, but the picture inside made it all the more special, a picture of just me and Harry one I hadn't seen before. In the picture I was reading a story to Harry who was on my knee. A few tears fall and I wrap my husband up in a big hug.

I had gotten him a book which I had put pics of him with the marauders in before Peter died and Sirius was imprisoned. I can tell it means a lot to him.

"Remember the way you all were not how you all are now" i tell him
"Thanks darling"
"It's not upset you right?" I ask feeling nervous
"No, I love it, a lot of great memories in here" he kisses my head

A knock at the door pulls us apart,
"I'll get it" I get up too quickly and feel dizzy, I sit down again before getting up again "I'm fine" I quickly let out as I see the look on my husbands face

I open the door to be met with my best friend.
"Ro, so good to see you" Rem pulls me into a great big bear hug
"Glad you could make it, come on in" he follows me in and sits opposite James.
"Merry Christmas" he and James hug before Remus opens the bag he brought with him "this is for this special boy" he hands a neatly wrapped package over to Harry, James moves back onto the floor to help the excitable one year old to open it. Once he opens it a wolf teddy is revealed along with a set of big cars.
"That's too kind of you Rem" I say as Harry starts playing with the four cars, he then tries to balance the wolf on the cars which looks very funny.
"This is for you and James" he hands me a thin package which I open to find a baby book "it's for your unborn child, to put in your first picture with them and loads more of there first time crawling, funny pic and all sorts, there's loads of categories"
"Thanks mate" I hand James the book so he can have a look
"Thanks Rem" I let out a cough trying to get James' attention, after the third cough he finally looks up
"You okay" I raise my eyebrows
"Oh right" he hands me the book and heads off to grab Rem's present.

"This is for you Moony" James hands him the present, inside he finds a box of chocolates (of course) and a few books
"Thanks you two" he nods gratefully
"I hope you like the books, I picked out quite a few different ones, like that one on dark arts and that's one on history of dragons. Very random but should be interesting" I ramble
"Rose" Rem stops me "they're great"
"Okay"

"Well I'll go check on dinner" i tell the boys
I head into the kitchen to see Hally dancing around, singing to herself, I let out a chuckle
"Rose, I'm just.."
"You seem to be having fun" I interrupt
"Yeah, dinners nearly ready, it's looking great and I've sorted out food for Harry as well" she nods
"You didn't have to do that Hally"
"I wanted to"
"I'll go and set the table" i tell her
"Okay"

Hally over the time we've had Harry here has really become one of the family, I finally convinced her to eat in the dining room with us and not alone and she has now started joining our activities around the house including cooking with us, planting flowers with me (to keep Euphemia's perfect garden well kept) and playing with Harry. I even managed to get her to take a real room and not just stay in the living room which took a lot of convincing but she's started decorating her room so she must love it.

I finish setting the table and so I head into the living room to grab James, Harry and Remus. We sit down, me at the head of the table, James on one side opposite Harry who is next to Remus and Hally will sit next to James.

She pops in from the kitchen and magically the food appears, I did not expect as much food as she has prepared
"Wow Hally you've outdone yourself"
"Thank you Rose" she sits next to James and we all begin to help ourselves.

"This is amazing" i let out
"The best" James adds
"Delicious" Rem nods at Hally
"Your all too kind" the elf blushes lightly brushing off the compliments.

The dinner was wonderful and then the desert is served which is as impressive as the dinner, unfortunately due to nausea I don't manage to eat any desert but I am just glad I could eat the dinner without feeling ill.

"Merry Christmas everyone" James raises his glass
"Merry Christmas" me, Rem and Hally chorus.

Family.

This is what Christmas is about.
