Chapter 8 - Bye, Bye

Rosetta's POV:

29th May

I've done it, finally.

I smile content as I exit my workplace for the last time.

No I didn't find a new job if that's what your wondering but I decided to quit anyway for a few reasons:
1. I hate my job
2. More public attacks are happening and I know I said I wouldn't get involved in the order but my husbands in it so I'm involved already really
3. And most importantly my sister, who has been overdoing it whilst being pregnant, has been put on bed rest so I'm trying to look after her as much as possible.

I head into my house and sigh happily,
"You did it?" My husband asks as he enters the room mirroring my smile
"I did it" I confirm
"Well done" he pulls me into a bear hug which sadly ends to soon "I'm so sorry but I have to go to work I just wanted to wait until you got home" he kisses my head
"Really? What is it now?" I huff disappointed
"A suspected attack on The Three Broomsticks so I have to go" he replies as he heads to the fireplace "Three Broomsticks" he calls throwing down the floo powder.

It's so quiet, I hate it.

Timeskip

Knock

Knock

I quickly leave the kitchen and open the door to find my very pregnant sister on the other side carrying very heavy bags which she goes to pick up.

"Nope, leave them and go sit" I demand
"I can do it, I'm not ill I'm just pregnant" she states frustrated before trying to take the bags again, but I quickly intercept
"I can use magic to carry them it's fine, you've been overusing magic whilst your pregnant; now go get off your feet" she huffs but doesn't argue any longer "wingardium leviosa" the bags leave the ground hovering behind me and I take them up to the spare room I had sorted earlier for my sister.

"Would you like a drink?" I ask as I enter the living room heading to the kitchen
"Just a water thanks" she replies

"Can Hally get you something Rose?" Hally my house elf and one of my close friends asks me
"Actually could you get Lily a water and an apple juice for me" I ask
"Coming right up!" She cheers as she gets to work
"I wanted a water" Lily says as I re-enter the living room
"Hally wanted to help" I only just finish the sentence before we hear a little pop and Hally places Lily's drink on the little table next tp the sofa and then hands me mine.
We both thank her and with that she leaves.

"How are you feeling?" I ask her
"I feel fine, that's why I want to do something, I feel useless, like a bit of dead weight"
"Lils we love having you here and your not dead weight"

Pop

I turn towards the window at the front as I hear someone apparate.
"Wait here" I instruct as I head to the door with my wand. I open the door to find my husband on the other side, relieved I lower my wand but my relief is short lived as I see my husband clutching his side. "What the heck happened?!" I grab his arm and help him to the sofa opposite Lily who's eyes widen at the sight of James
"Hally!" I call ignoring Lily's splutters, Hally enters quickly with a pop
"how can I hel-" she stops suddenly as she sees James
"I need some dittany" she nods firmly as she leaves hastily "what happened?" I ask gently
"Your old friend got a hit in" he mutters, I frown confused, my old friend
"Severus" i snarl
"No he wouldn't" James says nothing in response to lily's remark but I have a lot to say
"Oh he would, have you forgotten what he called you, what he's done? What he's now got plastered on his arm?!" A burning hatred resides itself behind my eyes as I think of the brother figure I once trusted
"Miss Rose" Hally splutters from behind me as she holds out the vile
"Thank you" Hally stays in the room watching, clearly nervous of the outcome "this is going to hurt" I warn James as I use the small vile to pour some onto the wound on his hip. He hisses violently, shaking slightly "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" I stutter as tears start falling. James noticing this and wipes them away. "Was anyone else hurt?" I ask already worrying about the answer
"No, well Rory was nipped a little bit but he barely acknowledged it" I nod knowing my sister in law will be dealing with him now.
"What were they after?"
"Probably bored" I comment shaking my head disgusted as i go to ask Hally for a bandage but without my knowledge she had already brought one "thanks" I smile at her showing her we're alright and she nods visibly relaxing. I cover the wound with a bandage causing James to whine at the pain "sorry, I'm done" I inform
"It was definitely Severus?" Lily asks
"Definitely" James nods "sorry" he adds feeling bad for having to tell her that, she shakes her head
"I should have known better" she mutters as she gets up
"Known better what?" I ask confused
"Nothing, I'm tired, I'm going to go to bed; Goodnight"
"Goodnight" I concur watching her walk up the stairs "that was weird" I comment aloud
"Yeah" James murmurs as he lays his head in my lap, I run my fingers through his wavy hair and it's not long before he falls fast asleep.

Short filler chapter before an important chapter next, the next chapter will skip ahead a bit, sorry in advance
