Chapter 14 - merry christmas

25th Dec

Rosetta's POV:

"Merry Christmas!" Kayla enters my house very loudly as an amused Reggie follows.
"How much has she had to drink?" I whisper to Reg as he passes
"Surprisingly nothing, she's just very excitable today" he shrugs

We sit down in the living room, though James leaves the room giving us some alone time,  as Kayla jumps up having sat down for too long (that being five seconds) and hands me and Reg our gifts

"Aren't we going to wait to do presents when the others get here later?" I ask
"We can but you two can open your ones from me now" she chuckles
"Ooookaaay" me and Reg open them to see a little box, both decorated in different colours; mines red and gold for Gryffindor whilst Reg's is green and silver for Slytherin.
"You can keep valuables in them and the top of it where the mirror is has a three way message board thing where all three of us can communicate through colour, each emotion being a different colour, yellow is joy, red is anger and on and on."
"Oh wow that's cool" Reg's eyes widen "who helped you do this?" He asks suddenly
"Hey!" Kayla exclaims, mouth wide but she seems to think for a second and begrudgingly responds "Remus, but I could have done it myself" she huffs as me and Reg laugh.

Once the laughter dies down Kayla turns to me
"Hey what is Lily doing today?"
"She's staying at the safe house with Harry" i tell her
"Just the two of them" Reg asks frowning
"Yeah, with more and more wizard and witches going missing she's really worried about Harry and whilst she hates the fact that it'll be such a quiet Christmas she said it would be safest." Reg nods
"I guess but how quiet will that be?" He wonders aloud knowing as well as everyone else that Lily is quite quiet herself and Harry can't talk much yet so it will be an incredibly quiet Christmas for them.
"Yeah...." I jump a little as James places a hand on my shoulder which I lay my head on blushing
"Awww" Kayla scrunches her face watching us chuckling to herself slightly so in retaliation I quickly grab a pillow and throw it at her "Hey!" We must have been quite loud as we never heard the door open.

"Pillow fight!" Sirius calls as he enters the room with Remus close behind followed by Peter.
James shakes his head as he plops down on the sofa beside me nuzzling his head in my hair.

"What Sirius meant to say was sorry I just walked in without knocking" Rem rolls his eyes standing awkwardly in the doorway
"Your family it doesn't matter" James gets up to pull Rem into a tight hug "oh by the way merry Christmas!" He calls as he lets go of Rem and moves onto hugging Sirius and Peter
"Merry christmas" we all repeat as we take turns hugging each other as well.

Timeskip

By the time we finish dinner Sirius, Kayla and James are all off there heads, drunk very drunk.

"What are Rory and Rosalie doing today?" Rem asks me as he joins the sober me and Reg
"Having a small family Christmas, you know first year with Pansy" i tell him
"I'm sure they'll have a great time" Reg nods
"Yeah" I agree
"I'm honestly a little surprised at how well there both taking to parenthood" Rem divulges
"Really, why?" I ask confused
"They are still very young, there only 21"
"Yeah but unlike muggles we tend to marry and have kids younger" Reg shrugs not phased
"I mean yeah but still, with Rory's past you can't help but be surprised at how well he's dealing" Rem says
"To tell you the truth he's still haven't moments where he freaks out, it's stressing Rosalie and honestly at times I think it's putting a bit of a strain on there relationship"
"Oh wow" Reg whistles
"Yeah, Rory told me that he didn't want a child and that hasn't changed, whilst Rosalie tells me that she's trying so hard to bring them closer but he keeps slipping away"
"They seemed fine when I last saw them" Reg shrugs
"Well there not going to showcase that there having problems are they?" I shake my head
"I'm sure they'll get through it, I mean there having a family Christmas just them so hopefully it'll be carefree and they'll just have some fun which will bring them closer" Rem reassures
"It'll never be carefree, not with what's happening out there" i state softly
"Rosalie will be on edge anyway, I mean her family have always sided with you-know-who so she'll be seen as a traitor" Reg adds
"Technically so are you then" Rem eyes Reg
"Eh doesn't bother me" he sits back in his chair winking at us
"Of course it doesn't" I roll my eyes at him.

Something smashes and we turn around seeing James bent over trying to pick up a broken vase.
"Just leave it!" I call
"Alrighty" he salutes sitting down with Sirius and Kayla.
"Arghh" I wave my wand and the pieces of the vase come together and then I levitate it back onto the little table in the corner. I glare at Reg and Rem when I hear them laughing. "Shut up" I mumble
"Not a chance" they chorus falling into another fit of laughter.
"I hate you both" I turn away from them being stubborn whilst trying to hold back a laugh of my own
"No you don't!" they call together and the laugh falls from between my lips without my permission.
"Shut up" we all laugh.

I'm sorry this took so long, I've had such a busy few weeks I've not had any time to write, but more chapters will be coming soon
