Twins of Mewni

Royal Pain part 1

Marco's POV:

I yawned, rubbing my eyes, as I was about to take the stairs to the kitchen. Suddenly, I started falling. Snapping my eyes open, I screamed, until I realized I was sliding down a water slide. "Woah!", I laughed, until I splashed into the pool in our living room. I swam up to the surface. "Oh, that was awesome!", I cheered. Star ran up to me, already wearing a green bathing suit. "I know, right?", she excitedly exclaimed, "Stairs are so boring." "I hope my parents don't flip when they see this...", I mumbled, as Star helped me out of the pool. "I'm flipping", Dad yelled, and did a flip into the pool.

"Dad!", I yelled, when he splashed me with water. "Relax, son", Dad told me, "This is like the perfect getaway without actually getting away!" He laughed as a dolphin appeared underneath him and carried him away.

"Star! What in the world did you do?!", Comet's voice came from upstairs. "It's amazing isn't it?", Star called back, ten times louder than Comet, "Change into your swimsuit and slide down!"

A small grumble came from upstairs. Five minutes later, Comet came out from the slide, wearing a pink swimsuit as Star had told her to. She used the sides of the pool to get out of the water. "Star, if Mom knew-", she started. "I know, right?", Star interrupted her, "I love living here! If our parents found out I've been using magic for stuff like this..." "About that... That was cool, but next time, maybe a little heads-up?", I suggested, "Wet socks are a form of torture in some countries." I pointed at my socks, which had been bothering me ever since they got wet.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang. "I'll get it", Star cheered. "Let me help you with that", Comet said, pulling out her wand, "Sunspark Bloom." Her wand emitted heat which immediately dried my socks. "Thanks, Comet", I said. "Oh no, it's Dad! I need to hide everything!", Star's voice called out. "Dad?!", Comet asked alarmed. Quickly, she cast a spell to change into her everyday clothes, while Star used her magic to get rid of all the pool things. She changed back to her normal outfit too, before she and Comet opened the door once more. I listened in on their conversation from behind them.

"What a pleasant surprise!", Star laughed nervously, "What brings you here?" "Well, I was in the neighborhood, and...", the king started, "Agh, who am I kidding? Your mother has banished me from the castle!" "What did you do?", Comet asked, seemingly not even surprised. Was this a regular thing that happened? "Nothing!", the king defended, "I just left a garment or two laying around."

He entered the house with his servant, who dragged his luggage with him. "I thought perhaps, I could stay here for a day while this blows over", he said. Dad came up from behind King Butterfly, and hugged him. "Of course you can stay here", he cheered, "You are familia. You can watch the kids while me and the wifey actually get away. ¡Hasta mañana!" With that, he and Mom were away. "Ah, good show", King Butterfly said. A laser puppy jumped into his arms, and Star, Comet and I tensed up. "Oh, hello", King Butterfly said, petting the puppy. It yipped, before shooting at King Butterfly's eyes with its laser. It then burned his beard, before jumping down again, and innocently playing around with its siblings.

"Girls...", King Butterfly said scoldingly, "If your mother was here, and knew you were using your wands inappropriately, she would send you straight to St. Olga's." Star and Comet looked at each other worriedly, grasping each other's hands. "... But I'm not your mother! I rather enjoy destructive magical puppies!", he cheered, and the twins let out a sigh of relief. "This visit is actually gonna be fun then!", Star said, and pulled Comet and their father into a hug. "Father-Daughters Day!"

Star's POV:

"Tour time!", I cheered, grabbing Dad by his mustache to show him around. "Hey guys, hold up. I'm gonna go change out of my pajamas", Marco said, and dashed to his bedroom. "I'll go make breakfast", Comet offered. Now that Mr. and Mrs. Diaz had left for the day, someone else had to do it. I nodded. "Okay, okay, we'll be down as soon as I'm done showing Dad around!"
