Comet's POV:
Back in our room, I pulled out the book from under my bed, and flipped it open. "Okay, Magic Instruction Book, instruct us", Star said, reading the title of each page to find what we were looking for. As I flipped the pages, Glossaryck appeared between one of them, just as frozen as everyone else was. "Oh no, Glossy's frozen too", I mumbled. "Good. I never liked that guy." Marco turned the page, "'Scrape the sides', buddy." "Marco", I scolded. "Okay, let's see, let's see", Star interrupted, and read the titles of the pages, "'What to do if you make a dimension explode', 'What to do if you delete gravity'. Ooh."
"Don't even think about it." I opened the next page, "'What to do if you freeze time', here it is!" I read out loud what the book was saying, "Should you ever find yourself unable to fix time with the time unfreezing spell, you can got to the Plains of Time and get the Wheel of Progress to move once more."
"Alright, sounds easy enough. Let's go", Star said, and pulled out the dimensional scissors to open a portal to the Plains of Time. I was the first to step through, followed by Marco, and lastly Star.
"Whoa." Marco and I gazed upon the landscape of this dimension. Sand dunes stretched on to the infinite purple and blue horizons, with small streams of water between them. Their was only sparse fauna, a few trees with no leaves. Most prevalent were the clocks. In the water, half buried in sand, hanging on the few branches of the purple trees, everywhere one looked, clocks could be seen. Old ones, new ones, ordinary, stretched, working ones and ones with gears poking out of them. And all of them stood still. In fact, it felt like nothing here moved, were it not for the soft whispers of the water, flowing at its normal pace, as well as the pure white, very big animals roaming around in the distance.
"This is definitely one of the weirder places we've been to", Marco voiced. "Weirder than that dimension of cats with human faces?", Star asked. We shuddered, never wanting to be reminded of that place again.
"Look, that must be the wheel!" Star pointed at a round object in the distance. When we approached it, I saw it was in fact a wheel, made of silver metal, and similar in shape to a gear one would find in a clock. "Looks like a giant hamster wheel", Marco remarked. That works too I guess.
"Now, how do we start this thing?", Star wondered. "Hmm. I got this.", Marco claimed, and stepped onto the wheel, trying to move it. Unsurprisingly it didn't budge. However, Marco wasn't ready to give up just yet. Attempt after attempt he failed, until he managed to get his head stuck between two wheel spokes. "Okay, this isn't working", he groaned.
Star giggled a little. "New plan. Rainbow Raccoon Rotation!" She conjured a rotating raccoon, which bounced of the wheel and fell to the ground between Star and me. "Hmm", Star made.
"Magic won't work on that", a voice behind us said. We turned around and saw a man sitting in the sand. He had blue skin and white hair, and was clad in a white cloak. "You gotta use the magic of toesies", he explained, and wiggled his toes at us. "Sorry, who might you be?", I asked. "I'm Father Time", the man introduced himself, and showed us a rock. "And this is Rocksworth. He's a rock, but don't bring it up. He's kinda sensitive about it." Father Time turned around again and played with the rock , making motorboat sounds.
Star went to help Marco out of the Wheel of Progress. "Father Time? So you are the one in charge for keeping the Wheel of Progress moving, correct?", I asked Father Time. He ignored my question, and instead started running around like a small child. "Hey look! I'm over here! And now I'm over here!", he laughed. Star and Marco returned to my side. "And how long were you on that wheel?", Star asked. Father Time skipped to a stop in front of us. "Oh you know... forever. Until someone cast a freeze spell and knocked me off of it", he explained, before immediately finding a new thing to focus on, "What is that?" He ran up to a mud puddle. "Uh... That's mud?", Marco replied.
Father Time fell face first into the mud, and rolled around in it happily. "Oh, it's glorious! I love mud." Before we could stop him, he slapped some mud on his tongue. Gagging in disgust, he immediately spit it out again. Marco chuckled nervously. "So, Mr. Time, how would you feel about getting the universe started up again?", he asked. Father Time ignored as he had ignored me before. "Oh, where has this been all of my life", he cheered, making snow angels in the mud (mud angels?). "Uh... look, look, look." Star picked up some mud and slathered it onto the wheel, "You can play with mud on your wheel." "Doesn't that sound nice?", I joined in.
Father Time looked at the wheel for a moment. "Well, that is an enticing offer", he started, "But nah." "What? But ensuring the stability of time is your duty", I reasoned, "how can you just decide not to do it?" Again, my question fell on deaf ears. "Oh! There's some mud that's a slightly different color." He ran of, and we started chasing after him. "And there's a twig, and there's a bush, and I- I don't know what that thing is, but it's waddling", he said, pointing out different object, before running again.
"Wait! You can't just leave time stopped!", Marco yelled. Father Time started taking incredibly high jumps across the landscape, with us barely able to follow suit. "Whoo!", he yelled. He sure was having the time of his life... "Without time, rainbows can't shoot across the sky! Glitter can't glitter!", Star exclaimed. "And everyone we know and love will be frozen forever!", I called out to Father Time but to no avail. Father Time kept running from us, until he came across and hourglass with a door. "What's this?" The door opened, and Father Time danced through the door. Just before we could enter, the door closed on us.
"What now?", Marco asked, when we heard Father Time yelling in excitement. We watched, as he raced across the sand on the back of a huge, speedy turtle.
"YOLO!", he yelled, "Anything's possible!"
"Uff, that really did not age well", Marco mumbled.
