Toffee's POV:
I stood in front of the Diaz' estate. It was covered in hair; a magical mishap of Princess Butterfly, surely. "I have the location of the wands. They are inside the house, ours for the taking", I informed Ludo.
He shivered and stepped back a little. "That's a house? It's covered in h-hair. Maybe we should come back another time." I shrugged my shoulders nonchalantly and said, "Of course. It's just... the wands have never been unattended before."
As I had foreseen, Ludo's greed overwrote his irrational, pathetic fear. He turned to his workers. "Fine! But you idiots are going to carry me!", he screeched at them, and I hid a smug smirk. He was practically digging his own grave. "I don't want a single hair touching me!", Ludo continued to throw his tantrum, sitting on Big Chicken's back as we moved to the house, "Hold still you dumb bird! What are you waiting for? Hurry up and protect me!"
I composed my facial expression and followed them into the house.
Star's POV:
"Ooh man. This would be a lot easier if I had my wand", I groaned, using the hedge clippers I had found in the garden to snip away at Marco's hair. I sat down on a hair bundle to take a rest and looked at the scissors with a smile. "At least I got you, Mr. Hedge Clippers"
"Yeah! You don't need no stinkin' wand! I wanna cut more!", the hedge clippers exclaimed. I shivered at its excitement for violence. "Yeah... no thank you..."
I continued crawling through the hair until I reached an air pocket. "Ugh, finally-" I looked around, "I'm still in the living room?!"
"Star?", I heard Comet's voice, muffled through the pile of hair. "Comet!", I gasped and started digging through the hair. I felt something squishy and screamed, starting to hit it, "Monster! Get away from my sister!"
"Ow, ow! Star, that's my arm!" I was suddenly pulled into the hair and stood next to Comet. "Oh. Yeah, I totally knew that... There's no way there could be monsters in here", I laughed it off.
"I suppose you don't have your wand either?", Comet asked. "Nope" I sighed, "If I did, all this hair would've been long gone..." I let my head fall on Comet's shoulder. "I'm really sorry, I should've listened to you when you said not to use magic on Marco", I apologized, "I really am a terrible friend..."
"Hey hey, don't be like that", Comet said, patting my shoulder. "The important thing is you know you were wrong and you won't use your magic for such reasons anymore. Just apologize to Marco later, I'm certain he'll understand."
She took my hand and lead us through the darkness, "Now, let's find our wands and return everything back to normal."
Toffee's POV:
"Master Ludo, can we take a break?" "I'm dehydrated..." "Can someone else carry you, Master Ludo?" "My feet hurt..." "My antlers keep getting stuck in hair..."
"No breaks! This is taking forever! Let's go. Do your job!"
Ludo's orders were met with murmur of whining and disapproval. I walked next to Ludo, the wand finding device in my hand.
The way Ludo treated his workers was horrid- exactly what I needed to fulfill my plan. I just needed to push them to their breaking point. And looking at their faces, it wouldn't take long anymore. Just one small push...
"The wand is... that way", I said, pointing at the hair in front of us. "We're close."
Ludo flinched seeing all that hair. Clearly, a reaction caused by his phobia. "W-well, c-clear the path and move it, you idiots!", he screeched at his workers. They reluctantly did as he said.
"Here." I handed Gerald a glass of water. By being 'friendly' with them, I ensure they will be loyal to me when the time comes...
Gerald smiled gratefully at me. "Thank you, Toffee. You're half as bad..."
We continued on through the hair, until we faced quite a sight.
The princesses, Star Butterfly on the floor, Comet Butterfly right next to her. Neither of them having their wand.
"Ludo! What are you doing here?!", Star exclaimed. Comet was looking at me with a tilted head. Her eyes were squinted, a mix of fear and confusion. I see how it is... Moon only told one of her daughters of my humble self...
"It's the girls! What are you idiots waiting for?! Attack!", Ludo screeched. Star easily punched and kicked them away, and Comet too was distracted, fighting off the attacking force.
I looked at the wand finding device. "Wait. The wands are that way", I calmly stated, pointing towards the staircase littered with hair. Everyone looked up, looked at each other, and started bolting to the stairs. "Don't let them get their wands!", Ludo screamed.
"Comet! Let's go", Star exclaimed, taking her sister by the hand as they rushed up. I looked at them fighting. I was in no hurry to get the wand. Once Ludo is out of the picture, retrieving the wand will pose no problem at all...
Comet's POV:
We ran up the stairs, fighting off the monsters behind us. My mind was filled with questions, and something in me told me to be on high alert. Who was that new monster? Why did he look so familiar?
Something in me was very afraid of him, something told me that him being here was a bad omen, a genuine threat to Star and me.
We had reached the bathroom, and Star kicked open the door. "Whoa", she let out. Marco was tangled in his own hair. "Stow! Comut! Thonk goodnuss you'w hewe!", his muffled voice came out. Suddenly, his eyes widened. "Wotch out!"
Before either of us could react, the monsters had us pinned down to the floor. "Master! The wands are yours!", one of them yelled. I could see Ludo approaching our wands, which were tangled in the hair next to each other.
The other monsters had entered the small bathroom too. Suddenly, Ludo fell to the hair covered ground. He let out a weird, strangled scream that made all of us freeze and look at him. Star took this chance to free herself from the monsters and get her wand. "Now Ludo, for your dose of magic!", she screamed, pointing her wand at him, but he didn't react.
I slipped out of the monsters grasp, took my wand and stood next to Star, watching with a dumbfounded expression how Ludo was laying in the hair, completely frozen. His eyes were wide, staring into the distance as if he was lost in a nightmare.
"Uhh... Should we do something?", I asked Star. She shrugged her shoulders, letting her fight stance fall.
"Ah... this is disgusting", Ludo mumbled. His eyes focused back to Star's wand. He suddenly charged at her, hands reached out to grab the wand. "Whoa!" Star held up her wand before he could take it, and he ran straight into her hair.
"Ah! It tickles! Ahahaha! Stop! It's my birthday! Ahahahahaha!" Ludo collapsed to the ground, laughing hysterically and rolling around in Marco's hair.
I looked up to see how the others would react. Everyone was staring at him with a mix of confusion and irritation. My eyes wandered to that new monster at the back, standing in the door. For a second, I swore I saw him grin...! The next second his face was cold again, and he left the room. Who are you...?
