The move to their new house went far smoother than Peter imagined. Steve and Natasha, as well as Rhodey all helped the couple moving, which made the whole thing just a one day affair. The by far hardest part of the move was withstanding the icy cold that has come over New York after New Year. As all the Avengers agreed that Wanda shouldn’t lift a finger during the move, she was tasked with making sure everybody stayed warm. However, once it became obvious that Wanda called Peter to far more ‘warming breaks’ than he needed to, the responsibility to stay warm was quickly reverted to the affected person themselves.

Wanda instantly fell in love with their new home. It wasn’t the largest, but both of their kids would have their own rooms in it now, while ensuring that everybody also had a place to relax and stay away from everybody for a while. The lake itself was about a three minute walk away, so both Peter and Wanda were looking forward to taking their kids there as often as they could, at least once they were old enough.

Natasha also kept her promise to bring them another panda so both kids could have one. However, neither Peter nor Wanda told her that the original panda was in their own room. Initially, Wanda insisted on having it in bed with them, but once it became obvious that cuddling with each other would become a near impossible task with that enormous stuffed animal between them, she moved it to the floor herself. Still, Peter continued to try and convince Wanda to move it to one of the kids rooms, but he had no success so far.

Even Carol showed up a few days ago to bring them two new born kittens, just as she promised on Christmas. Peter noticed that she was a bit disappointed that Steve did not allow her to bring two Flerken, but Peter was sure that she would get over that disappointment. And who knows, maybe they could get one of those when the kids were a few years older. At least Carol hinted at something in that direction.

Shortly after the move, Pepper gave birth to a small baby girl. She called her Morgan, since Tony apparently had a vision about her the day he vanished. Steve and Peter supported her in the early days as much as they could. Peter saw it as a good practice run for his own babies, so he didn’t complain at all and as it turned out, changing diapers was a lot harder than he imagined. He was incredibly glad that he got a few practice runs in, since he was terribly afraid of embarrassing himself in front of Wanda.

In the middle of February, Wanda’s birthday came around. They have decided to no longer celebrate Valentine’s Day just two days earlier, as Wanda thought it would be unfair if Peter had to plan two ‘special’ day in such a short time period.

On her birthday, Peter woke Wanda up with breakfast in bed, since that became their own birthday tradition over the years. While they were enjoying their breakfast, Wanda suddenly announced, “Oh, by the way, I invited Kate for today.”

Peter stared at Wanda for a few moments. “Why though? And to be fair, I didn’t even know that you were in contact regularly,” he asked Wanda curiously.

Wanda smiled at Peter’s confusion. “We text like every other day. She always sends me links on how to raise your baby, which gets kind of annoying, but overall she is a really nice texting partner,” Wanda explained. “As for why she comes over, I figured if she is going to be our main babysitter, she should know her way around our house, don’t you think? Before the twins arrive, I mean,” she continued.

“All right, I guess that makes sense,” Peter said thoughtfully. “But how does she come over? I don’t think she has a drivers licence yet,” he added after a while.

“Oh right, I forgot to mention that. You will have to drive her,” Wanda announced.

“Good to know,” Peter said, slight annoyed that he would have to spend a good part of Wanda’s birthday in the car.
