Grace stood in the kitchen. She knew how she was being admitted to the hospital for treatment she how she just wanted to spend one last night at home in her bed. She turned and frowned as she saw derek as he stood in the doorway and looked to her

"Derek" she said. She knew how she was trying to stay strong with all of this

"Gracie" he said as he placed a ring on the table as she looked to him

"No not like this. Not because I'm ill" Grace said

"No grace there not eat I swear. We've been engaged for a while and I jacket got you a real ring. This is not because you have a brain tumour it's because I love you" he said as she smiled. She knew how she was trying to be so strong and she knew how it scared her

""Why didn't you tell me Gracie?" Derek asked as grace looked to him and sighed

"Tell you what Derek that I thought I was going crazy" Grace said as Derek walked over to her and cupped her face in his hands and smiled

"You are not. Crazy. You are grace Nicole grey and I love you so much and your not going to die I am going to get this tumour and then you and I are going to marry as life is short and I refuse to loose you" derek said as grace started to cry

"I'm scared. Please don't let me die" she said

Derek pulled her into his arms as she sobbed. She was scared and she was trying to stay so strong and she knew it wasn't easy as she knew that this tumour was eating away at her. She winced in pain which derek saw as he walked over to her and placed his hands in her face and looked to her

"This is why you fainted isn't it?" He asked as she looked to him with tears in her eyes

"I'm sorry" she said as he smiled

"It's okay come on I'll drive you to the hospital l am going to make sure you fight this as your my Gracie and I am not going to loose you. As we're going to fight this. Your going to fight this and we're going to become man and wife and we're going to spent the rest of our lives together and we're going to have lots and lots of babies" he said as she smiled

He grabbed her bag and took her hand and smiled as he walked her out as she rested her head into his chest. She felt terrified

Bella stood with mark as she stood in the hallway "your worried over grace aren't you" mark asked as she looked to him and nodded

"Of course I am. She's my best friend and she has cancer and I didn't even see it. I knew she was off but I didn't see it" she said as she looked to him and smiled

"I would have told you angel. I need you to know that but this wasn't my secret" he said as bella smiled as Meredith walked over

"Is your brother OK?" Meredith asked as Bella looked to her

"What? "

"To be cutting into brains today. Is he OK to be back?" Meredith asked

"Yes. Of course. Derek is fine. " Bella said

"I know over his carnage in the OR. Remember? This isn't just any patient today. This is grace. My baby sister" Meredith said ad she walked off as izzie walked over
