Bring It On

You can imagine the pure satisfaction upon hearing Elena's humanity being shut off, which is great on my part because, for the past few days, neither of my brothers has bugged me about anything. They're so focused on protecting poor defenseless Elena that they left me here to rot.

The only other person who came to visit was Caroline. Mostly because the mayor put vervain in the town's water supply and since my house has a filter, it's the only place that's vervain-free. That's probably the only time I would ever get a small ounce of blood because she would give me a small vile that was half-filled. I probably would be decaying if it wasn't for that.

"How do you feel?" she asked as she pulled the vile away from my lips.

"You ask me that every time and I'll give you the same answer every time," I deadpanned. I motioned toward her robe. "If you're gonna strip, better do it now. But you should know, I swing the other way."

"I'm sorry Stefan or Damon haven't been down here."

"Whatever. I figured something like this would happen because Elena shut off her humanity." I let out a dry chuckle. "Always about their precious Elena."

"You know that's not true."

"Care, you don't have to lie to me. I don't mind it. Gives me time to relax. No one coming down here to try to reminisce about the happy times or torture me to turn my humanity back on." I tilted my head a bit as I looked at her curiously. "Which I'm a bit surprised about you. I'm sure they told you about my fun adventures."

"Are you talking about how you sold us out to Katherine? Or all those people you decided to kill?"

I rolled my eyes in annoyance. "I didn't kill them."

"But you compelled someone else to do it." She reached over and grabbed my hand, the best she could since it was still stake to the chair. "I wish you could come to school with me. You need some fun instead of being cramped here."

"I could if you just untie me. Maybe give me something more than just half a vile full of blood." The look in Caroline's eyes told me that she wasn't going to do it. "But I'm guessing my annoying older brothers told you not to." I gave her a mock pout. "Too bad, I was so looking forward to the cheer competition you keep yapping about."

"I'm sorry, Bels."

"That's what they all say." I leaned my head back against the chair and closed my eyes. "If you're done, then you can leave. I can smell you from here. I can't stand the stench of fish coming between your legs."

I didn't bother looking at her before she got up and left. However, I heard another pitter-patter of feet coming my way before the person closed the door. I didn't have to open my eyes to see who since I could smell his hair gel from here.

"I know you're up," Stefan said.

"I was hoping you'd go away," I responded. "You haven't been down here so I figured you guys forgot about me. Like a dog owner forgetting their pet once the new baby arrives."

"Do I detect a hint of sadness?"

"Don't get your hopes up. I'm just stating the obvious." I leaned my head back up and looked at him. "So, what's the new way of you torturing me? Are you going to cut me open? Make me remember all the good times we had when we were kids playing by the fountain?"

"We can skip all that if you tell me about Katherine."

I chuckled. "Still on that?"

"She has the cure and we need it now more than ever. You were the last person who saw her and I doubt she's coming here to help you."
