Oh, my god. I can't believe it. Elena's a vampire now. Well, she's in transition. Part of me is happy that Elena isn't dead but the other part of me feels some kind of guilt. I know I shouldn't feel guilty but it was Damon's blood Meredith gave her in order to survive. And I feel guilty because Elena was willing to die to save Matt. She was welcoming death but the choice was taken away from her. And you can bet your ass that Damon's pissed off. My brothers and I were in Elena's room waiting for her to wake up. Which took about all night since we came from the hospital. Oh, god. I don't know how Elena's gonna feel. With our emotions heightened and all of this becoming newer for her. She might be scared. She might cry...ok, she'll definitely cry. Bonnie is trying to do anything in her power to make Elena human again. Human or vampire, I'm going to be the friend Elena needs. I know everyone else will, too. I just hope Damon could get his head out of his ass and have some hope that there's a spell to make her human again.
Elena gasped once she woke. She sat up straighter and started to look around her room as she tries to recall the last 24 hours. Which was hell. Elena calmed down a bit when she saw Stefan.
"Stefan," she panted.
Stefan gave her a comforting smile while grabbing her hand. "Hey. I'm right here. You've been in and out for hours."
"Wh - What happened?"
"You were in an accident."
Elena's eyes widened. "Oh, my God. Matt, is he -"
"Alive?" Damon finished for her, not containing his bitter mood. "Ask Stefan, the hero."
I smacked Damon's shoulder before crossing my arms. "Matt's fine," I said. "Stefan got there in time."
Elena sighed in relief. "Thank you." She looked at Stefan. "I thought that I -" Then a look of confusion washed all over her face. "How did you -"
"Save you? He didn't," Damon cut him off. I slapped the back of his head. "Ow! Will you stop doing that?"
"Will you stop being an ass?" I snapped at him. I took a deep breath before looking at Elena, who was waiting for an explanation. "When Jeremy brought you to the hospital before all this happened, your injuries were worse than anyone knew. Meredith made a choice and used Damon's blood to heal you."
"And when Rebekah ran Matt's truck off the road, you had vampire blood in your system, Elena," Damon finished with an even more pissed off tone. He's still pissed at Matt for being alive while Elena had to die, but again it was her choice. I would have done the same if it meant Stefan or Damon were safe.
"Oh my god," Elena breathed. "Does - Does that mean that I...Am I dead?" The silence in the room was enough confirmation Elena needed. Her eyes started to water as her head started to shake. "No. No. No. That - That wasn't supposed to happen."
"Maybe it doesn't have to," Stefan tried to reassure her. "Bels and I talked to Bonnie, she said she's stronger than ever. There might be something she can do to help you."
"No, the only thing that's going to help is for you to feed and complete the transition," Damon said.
"Which isn't an option, yet," I glared at Damon. "We still have all day before she has to feed, Damon."
"There is no way out of it! We all know the drill - You feed or you die. There is no door number three."
"I was ready to die," Elena cried. I was supposed to die. I don't - I don't want - I can't be a vampire! If there's something that Bonnie can do, we have to try."
Stefan grabbed her hand. "We will. We'll try everything," Stefan said and I nodded in agreement.
Damon had his resting bitch face. "Your choice, Elena. As always," he said, not to happy that we let her make her own decision.
