The Reckoning

I would usually be in bed sleeping the night away, well, not tonight. Tonight, I will release my inner demons. Well, I do that in the bedroom anyway, but I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about...senior prank night. I love senior prank night. All nicks and tricks every high school senior year. Like switching the pool water to jello or putting the principal's car on the roof. Good times. Good times. Unfortunately, all the hard work that was put in tonight was ruined when Matt came in the room and set off all the mouse traps.

"Oh, come on! Seriously?!" Caroline exclaimed as I turned on the lights. "Do you know how long it took for us to set all this up?!"

Tyler sighed before leaning against the TV. "Forgot about senior prank night, huh?"

"Clearly," Matt said.

Here comes, Caroline. "How could you forget? We've only been waiting for this since like freshman year."

"Well, you guys have," I commented. I cracked my fingers. "I've been doing this before you guys were even born." Literally.

Elena chuckled. "Yeah, Matt. If I'm doing this, you're doing this."

"I'm kind of surprised any of you are doing this," he said.

I quickly went to the board and started super-gluing the erasers together. "Caroline is making them. I actually enjoy senior prank night/mischief night."

"So Bela is helping us outdo last years seniors," Caroline said. "And come on, we're about to be seniors. These are the memories that stay with us forever, and if we don't -"

"And if we don't create these memories now, then what's the point of it all?" Elena mocked her.

"Go ahead and make fun, I don't care."

Tyler grabbed the box from the table. "You're all lame. And I've got ten more classrooms to prank." I went over to my bag and pulled out the honey. Tyler held his hand up as I tossed it to him. "Thank you."

Elena got up and followed. "Hey! Where are you going?" Bonnie asked.

She gave us a teasing smile. "To superglue Alaric's desk shut. I'm making memories."

"Wait!" I called back before she could leave. I reached into my bag again to pull out a blow horn. I grabbed it before running next to her. "Let's see how Ric likes his morning surprise."

"Love you!" Caroline yelled when we left.

We heard Tyler giving some guys orders. We started to laugh as we walked down the halls.

"So, what is the best prank you've ever done?" Elena asked me.

I smirked. Automatically knowing the answer. "Back in 1932, I had this little trip wire attached to the teachers coffee mug. He was the biggest bitch ever. So when he was about to drink his morning coffee, he tripped the wire." I started to laugh. "All of his posters and bookshelves collapsed everywhere. You should have seen him. He started swearing like a sailor. I loosened his chair, too, so when he sat down. He collapsed."

Elena started laughing. "You think you can do that again?"

We went through the doors. "I need the right -"

We stopped when we collided with a body. I heard Elena gasp and I looked up to see one very pissed off Klaus. Oh, shit.

"There are my girls," he said.

"Klaus," Elena breathed.

Klaus grabbed my throat and pinned me to the wall. I started gasping for air as he squeezed my windpipes.
