Story inspired by a C.AI prompt I can no longer find. So this is sort of like a R.I.P moment for that prompt.
"You think she'll notice?" Enid whispered mischievously, trying to keep her voice quiet in the herbology classroom.
"No, I made sure to sneak it into her flask when she was occupied." Ajax's assured, snickering behind his hand as he, Enid, Eugene, Xavier, Bianca and Yoko all had their eyes on their friend Wednesday.
You see, the group was fed up with her constant aloofness, not that they minded it. Still, when the werewolf accidentally caught a glimpse of the goth's diary talking about her undetermined feelings for a student here at Nevermore, before Enid could read the name the young Addams harshly slammed the notebook shut and scolded the girl for snooping. She refused to elaborate further, the nosy group finally wanted to see their friend... evolve in one way or another.
So, of course, Enid told the friend group, all of them speculating who might have won over their grumpy friend's heart. The best way they decided to combat this was that Wednesday was not a willing participant in sharing information so easily, so they made a love potion.
The potion will affect the consumer by making them more daring and outspoken about their feelings toward their heart's desires when near them. Other than that, they would remain normal. Speculations were made, of course, some assumed Wednesday liked a guy, others guessed about a girl.
The Latina, who was always prepared, had a black flask on her; you would think from her pale skin she wouldn't get the needed nutrients to be considered healthy, but she did care for her health, and a bottle of water was always handy for any situation. Such as if someone caught on fire, which was never the case, an unfortunate circumstance in the braided-haired girl's opinion, yet she could still hope.
Ajax made sure to slip the potion into the flask when Wednesday was busy gathering her school supplies from her backpack. It was a quick slip, easily unnoticeable, but also mainly due to the fact that the girl would never assume her friends to be more foolish than they already were.
They all sat in anticipation in their seats as they watched the scene unfold. Wednesday had taken a few sips of the drink at this point, whilst taking small breaks between note taking, as the professor never wrote too much at a time, so the students could easily follow along.
You were her seatmate for this class, you two never really spoke except for the occasional few words on the task at hand, or when you couldn't find a pen in your bag and asked to borrow one from her.
Wednesday could tolerate you; you weren't chatty, weren't annoying, and you never overstepped by being overly nice or hopeful. Then again, she wasn't exactly the most approachable, and you were the only one with half a mind to respect that, unlike her adolescent peers.
Then all of a sudden, something in her demeanour changed. She slouched a little in her chair for a moment, holding her head in one hand as she looked a little out of it. Concern began to overtake the friend group, maybe they shouldn't have meddled with magic and chemistry, neither of them was smart enough to understand.
"You think it'll do anything?" Eugene whispered, the most concerned out of the six. "What if we made it wrong?"
"We didn't make it wrong," Bianca interjects quickly, as she was the one who had made it, so she felt a little offended that her skills were being doubted. "It just needs a moment to kick in." A few seconds of silence went by before the artist spoke.
"So... you think she'll be into me?"
A series of smacks rang out in the classroom, as well as a few annoyed glares as not only Enid had hit the boy on the back of the head, Yoko who was behind him delivered one too, then Bianca who was in front of the long haired pubescent teen had purposely reached forward to take part in it too.
