Watching your secret girlfriend parade around the new Quad in a pink and blue sweater, smiling and even dancing before breaking into hives trend on Nevermore's social media had instantly sent you into a panic.
Your first thought was 'What the hell is she doing?! She's allergic to colour!' Before your mind went down a dangerous path about whether or not she had officially lost her marbles after losing her psychic ability and had been trying nearly everything to get it back.
You had heard Wednesday's warnings, more like complaints when she'd retell you what her mother would nag at her about.
But suddenly all of Morticia's warnings were beginning to feel real, far too real.
You didn't hesitate to leave your dorm to make a beeline to hers. When you burst in, the last thing you'd expect to see was Wednesday lying on Enid's bed scrolling on a phone, smiling.
"Uh... Wednesday?" You spoke hesitantly, watching how the girl who looked unusually startled quickly stood up from the bed, straightening her posture.
"Y/n? What are you doing here?" She questioned, her voice was soft, way too soft.
"I think I should be the one asking the questions." You said with a firm glare, watching how she shrank into herself. "What the hell were you thinking?" Anger mixed with concern met your words to turn them sharper than blades. "You know you're allergic to colour, you could've died!" Your voice rose with worry.
She blinked at you, physically blinked as she shifted from one foot to the other. She seemed to be uncharacteristically nervous; it was unsettling you more than she usually did. "I just... figured a splash of colour wouldn't hurt, plus, I wanted to double check if my allergy had worn off. I've been reading on... strange anomalies of people passing through their old allergies as they age."
"You're almost 17!" You countered in disbelief. "Those people are usually in their mid-twenties to early thirties." You pinched the bridge of your nose before sighing softly, approaching the Latina to place your hand on her shoulders, looking at her with a more worried gaze. "I know you said you had a handle on things, but today you're really starting to worry me."
Your hands rubbed up and down her shoulders like you usually would. Wednesday would always remain stiff and rigid whenever you initiated physical contact, but the girl seemed to melt into it, and your heart twinged with concern as you pulled her into your chest.
"I just want to know what's going on. You said no more secrets." You placed a small kiss on the top of her head, a familiar gesture to you.
But all of a sudden, Wednesday jumped back, looking at you with a flush on her face and her eyes wide in disbelief. "Did you just kiss me?" She questioned, sounding appalled as you looked at her, befuddled.
"I always kiss you." You countered slowly, like you were attempting to speak the same language as a foreigner.
The young Addams spluttered, her arms flailing wildly in front of her like it was going to help her form thoughts faster. "You and Wednesday kiss?!" She spoke in third person, which only made you more baffled. "Since when?!"
"Wednesday, we've been dating for a year now." You said with a mixture of hurt and alarm at her lack of memory.
"YOU WHAT?!" She yelled, almost sounding a bit like...
...Her roommate.
"Enid?" You called out questioningly.
"Yeah?" Her head tilted up to look at you, responding to the name. She blinked once, slowly. Then the realisation set in, her eyes bulging out of her sockets, which was a frightening look on Wednesday as she fumbled for words. "I mean- Pfft, Enid?" She scoffed, folding her arms over her chest, looking at you with a small glare. "I'm clearly Wednesday, dark and moody as always." She claimed, lifting her chin up high in confidence.
