All Good Things Comes to Those Who Wait

Summary: "Y/n dies and Wednesday does everything and anything to bring her back."

Warning: Mentions of death, gore and kidnapping. 

"Y/n L/n was many things: a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a loved one to all that she interacted with." Your mother spoke in a watery tone, doing her best not to show emotion and mess up her speech. "She was always kind and graceful in everything she did. No matter what. " The woman took a large breath before continuing, "She was taken from us last week in the attack on Nevermore Academy, willingly putting her life in the way for another." The mother spoke with anger, resentment and a touch of pride for the girls' actions. "But today we are here to not only honour her memory, but to give thanks for all those she had saved." 

The eulogy continued for what felt like an hour, but none of it was enough to keep me satisfied of Y/n passing. I love funerals, I always, and I always did, but seeing the one I loved getting lowered into the dirt was a pain that was not for the faint of hearts. Y/n was everything her mother had said, kind, gracious, selfless, but she never knew her like I did. No one knew her at all if I really thought on it.

No one asked how she died, but I had watched the whole thing. It was when Xavier shot the arrow trying to play hero, causing me to take the bullet for him in the shoulder. That whole 3 seconds of us arguing about whether or not Thorpe should go escort the students in favour of staying with me had costed a life. A life I held so dearly to my cold black heart.

Crackstone had me pinned, Bianca stabbed him from behind to save me, causing him to throw her across the quad. And as I stabbed him in his heart with the broken sword, he had used his staff one last time to make one of the higher up balconies fall. 

Y/n saw Xavier leading away the students, he was trailed too far behind them to realise the impending doom that would fall atop of his head, but the stone had already started to crumble. I didn't see it happen, a part of me was glad I hadn't. The scream of Y/n's voice however was haunting my dreams as she pushed the boy out of the way taking his place under the rubble instead. 

I didn't hesitate to rush to her aid once Thornhill was taking care of, removing the bits of concrete and stone as fast I could with the help of Eugene, Bianca and Xavier. She was already gone by the time we uncovered her. 

I was angry, mad, furious. She didn't deserve to die. Not one other student had suffered the same fate she had that night, and it was all for what? An annoying boy who still though he had a chance with me after all the shit-talk he gave me.

Yes, I did put him in that jail cell when I believed him to be the Hyde. However, I had tried to undo my mistake when I realised the thickened plot thanks to Tyler's monologue. I wasn't going to let her go. Not now, not ever.

I had packed my things due to the semester being cut short whilst the government find a new principal and re-construct the broken parts of the school. But I had a much bigger plan to spend my unplanned holiday with resurrection. 

My parents were already made aware of my intentions; they tried to advise that Y/n was at peace now that she had passed. I wouldn't stand for it. Her life was taken too soon, I doubt she made the decision to risk her life with the calculations it'd be the last decision she'd ever make, and I was giving her a second chance. 

My parents learned quickly they couldn't sway me; they had never seen me this committed towards another person it wasn't until I explained to them Y/n was my secret lover during the Hyde case did they finally understand my fixation. 

Love never came easily to me. I had a tolerance for most people, my family included, but Y/n L/n had snuck her way into my heart one night when she caught me at the morgue taking my own personal notes on the homeless man who had become a victim of the Hyde. Who knew being the niece of the town's mortician would have been so attractive?
